Works too well

I bought this so my grandchildren could watch children's programming in the play room on an older TV. I found a lot of channels that I would really love to have that are not available because they are not available from my cable provider. I naively thought this device would allow me to access that content. It did not. That is not the fault of the device an for the cahnnels I can access it works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received the product and set it up as a secondary in my bedroom the use of individual key typing as opposed to use of tablet is annoying as If available I haven't yet figured it out.

My mother and I got this for christmas and we have enjoyed it very much! We had several subscriptions and it's been nice to be able to use them on the TV

Roku 2 Great buy for simple users

I love Roku and I have had them for a long time. I had one of the Roku 2 XS which was great. The problem I have is that I stream a lot of movies via different pc servers. I use Media Browser for streaming movies. It works great on the new Roku 3 that I have. I just bought a Roku 2 for the TV in our living room for this functionality and the Roku 2 plays some movies and the audio does not work. So after some researching I found that the Roku 2 cannot handle some of the audio codecs from some of the movies that I have ripped. I changed the settings in the Roku 2 to Stereo audio from Surround and it worked. Pretty crappie that I have to sacrifice the surround sound because the unit cannot handle it. I am also disappointed that it has no USB port. If your gonna buy a Roku go for the 3, best for the money.

Needs Work

I got this as a gift for Christmas. It works well but still needs improvement. I wish you were able to chose a Netflix show based off season first then episode instead of having to scroll through all the episodes to find the one you want. I also wish some channels didn't require an extra account or extra pay.
