The XD isn't very good very dark the "2" model is much better. I'll replace XD when price comes down.

I bought two Rokus, a Roku2 and a Roku Streaming Stick. I use the Streaming stick to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu Plus while working out and I used the Roku2 to transform a old dumb TV into a smart TV so that my grandkids can watch their favorite cartoons on Netflix. Both products are great!

This product works great, but gets hot and stops working like I first got it, it needs a switch to turn it off, it might fix that problem....or just unplug it, it take awhile to set up again.

Originally I bought my first Roku second hand to use on a TV in a room without cable. It worked great for that. After about four months I decided to upgrade my unit to a Roku2 and have absolutely no regrets. I decided to drop my cable subscription and go with only the Roku. No regrets there, it suits me perfectly. With a subscription to Netflix and Amazon movies I don't miss cable at all. With hundreds of other channels available there is always something great to watch. I'm a huge fan of documentaries and there a more than I could ever watch. I love that you can connect the Roku2 using wither HDMI or composite video. My only request would be an SD card slot for it. I know it is available on the Roku3 but it would be nice to play some of the movies I have from a USB or SD card. Hands down the best entertainment purchase I have made.

I purchased Roku2 in the hope it would perform better than other streaming devices I have. The answer: yes and no. My problem is maintaining a connection to the streaming service (Netflix, etc). I'm told that this is due to extreme variation in my ISP speed (from 5Mbs to 56Mbs). I have very little problem streaming to a Dell laptop. A Sony Blue Ray dropped the connection so often as to be useless. Google Chromecast was better than the Sony but will not stream Amazon. Roku2 is nearly as good as the laptop and streams everything. Definitely the best of the bunch!

Better than ANY OTHER!

We had a Chromecast on our other TV and it was terrible! It would freeze up and I would have to do the unplug/replug/wait to load dance and it was hit or miss. We could not watch movies in HD because it would completely stymie the thing. We had bought a Roku stick for our downstairs TV and loved it!! NEVER any issues! So when we wanted to replace that darn Chromecast, it was not even a question. The only question was Roku stick or Roku 2 or 3. The earphones feature on 2 was a winner and only about $20 more dollars. A+++++
