Very Pleased - Actually Surprised....

I've had the RoKu 2 for a couple months now and so glad we got it. We've had the apple TV for a while and thought it was amazing but all the reviews kept saying Roku was better. Well.....curiosity got the best of me and we decided to launch out into the Roku world. Now me and my kids fight over it. We LOVE all the extra Roku has to offer and the super easy navigation. Now I just need to get my hands on a couple more for the other TV's....

Love my Roku2

This is my second Roku. I am not sure I needed to replace my original unit (I was having trouble with it stopping, but it turned out I had a faulty installation of my Prism cable). I run my Roku2 thru thr night most nights (bad sleeper) and it has kept me entertained. It allows me to have access to several channels (British Acorn, etc.) to which I am addicted. Can't rave loud or long enough about Roku.

I bought this 4 months ago. Easy to set up. Small, unobstusive. Works seemlessly. Cut my cable subscription.

OK but there are some flaws - get one with ETH!

The ROKU is a great option if you've been dying to ditch the cable. In general, the device works great and, depending on what you subscribe to, the viewing options are good. Sometimes the streaming is slow, but I think that has to do with our wireless connection speed or the upstream cable connection.
I would recommend getting on that you can plug in via Ethernet. Relying on only wireless is not good. For some reason, you cannot get Roku to use a guest wireless network, only the main network. I had planned on getting Roku on the guest network so that it is isolated from our main one for security reasons - not possible with this model. So, it you are OK with having a box that is open to the world on the same network as you personal data, this is not a big deal. For me, it was annoying. Also, the Roku uses a wireless network for the remote to talk to the box. This shows up and an access point and, even though it is supposed to be secure, it's a design flaw if you ask me. What's wrong with the regular remote design? Why can't is use IR or something else?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

attaching headphones to the remote was the reason i went to the roku 2 -
on several tv's the roku's the only thing connected and i love it

We bought this almost a month ago - we don't pay for cable tv- we use the air antennae but wanted more viewing options. We are loving Netflix (small subscription fee) free History channel, free slacker radio/Pandora and some of the other channels. There is a LOT of stuff to view even for free. We have barely tapped into the capabilities of Roku. Glad we did it! So ridiculously easy to install - even we could do it!

Good Value - prefer Roku 3

I bought the Roku 2 for a second TV because of price. I already owned a Roku 3 and figured I'd save a few bucks. It works well but I like the speed of my Roku 3 much better. I just purchased another Roku 3 for my 3rd TV. Recently discovered private channels... very happy!

I purchased my first Roku over a year ago and now I have three. Why pay extra for a smart TV when Roku turns virtually any TV into a smart one for hundreds less. I love my Roku(s).
