This is my second Roku. The directions that came with this were easy to follow; well, my son helped to get it plugged in. A Roku tech helped with the installation but I had already started the process. There is a big difference in the picture quality of movies and TV shows. Difference of night and day. And kudos to the Roku technicians. They work with you until any problems are solved and their speech is easy to understand. Roku is a great product.

about two months into ownership, and very pleased with this product. nearly 75% of my current television viewing is programming I receive through our Roku device. comfortable with the costs involved, significantly cheaper (with far greater content made available) than bumping to the next level of cable service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great improvement on the original. The headphone jack is a must have. Shortcuts are perfect and only a setting to auto-load a default channel would be better.

This thing just works. I've not had any problems setting it up or getting it to work in any way. Streaming from the net, media server, tablet or smartphone have all been doable with quality results.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had heard about the Roku box from a friend and kind of wrote her off. But I got tired of paying so much for dish, that I decided it was time to check it out....WOW! How did I ever go without it!? It was very easy to set up, JUST LIKE THEY SAID IT WOULD BE! Within minutes, it was set up and I was watching my prime list! Yay!!

Love the Roku, but...

Replaced a smart dvd which had 3 Netflix profiles. My Roku 3 has multiple Netflix profiles, but Roku 1 and 2 do not. I almost returned it for that reason.
If you have a family and watch Netflix, spend the extra cash for the Roku 3 so your kids don't mess up your list. Updating the firmware would be awesome.
Headphones option is nice, but we haven't used that much. Still it plays as well as either of the other two and we enjoy using it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my Roku!

I bought my Roku about a month ago and I absolutely love it! I had been using a blu ray player to stream and it was giving me a lot of trouble losing sound and stopping frequently. The Roku downloads very quickly and works like a charm. This one is in my bedroom and I am going to buy another one for my living room.
