My Roku 2 enabled me to watch Internet movies, television and access Web videos on my older TV. This is great fun, even with my low end DSL subscription.
The biggest drawback isn't that most content is not free, it's that my device often freezes and reboots itself or has to be unplugged.
I do not know if these technical difficulties are common. I was fortunate to get my device on an extreme sale, so I did not hassle with exchanges before my window closed.
I would have rated this a 5 had it not been for its OS crashing so much.
The concept is great. Good luck with yours!

Love my Rokus

I have 3 Rokus, I love my rokus, cheaper than cable, I don't have to watch the same things over and over again, not all the commercial's, and little ones can watch without seeing and hearing things they don't need to see and hear. I love Roku.

Good value for the price

I got the Roku 2 as a gift. We use it to listen to Pandora, watch an occassional movie or TV show. There is some free stuff, but it seems a good bit of stuff you do have to pay for, and some channels may not be free it you don't have cable subscription. I think it is a good supplement to cable, but I'm not ready to replace cable with just Roku. I think you would spend a good bit of money paying individually for channels, movies and shows, that you would end up spending more than paying for cable.

So long cable TV

This is our second Roku unit, the first being a Roku 3. This one is every bit as good for s, better for the "connect to any TV" aspect. Roku 2 processor is slightly slower through the menus, etc. but not bad especially if you don't compare it side by side with the 3.

Roku 2 - Does a great job streaming movies!

I bought this about 6 months ago. I already had a Roku LT and like that this one has the Wifi Remote and the Personal Headphones. The remote works great as well as the personal headphones. The streaming is very quick. There are lots of channels for the Roku that I like. Very easy to use and set up.
