Great Device

I have my Roku 2 for about 7 months . I am super pleased with the flow of the device transition to channels is smooth remote is perfect and is why I upgraded from the Roku 1 . i my upgrade to a Roku 3 later in the year but for a beginner looking into cable cutting this is the perfect starting point .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unit Emanates Heat on Bottom

I enjoy the Roku 2 unit, but find that it emanates a fair amount of heat on the bottom side. This is true if the unit is in use or just idle.
I own another Roku and don't have this problem.

The remote stopped responding when using earphones

Just like the original player it was easy to set up. I bought this one because of the capacity to use earphones as you watch. Also, I like the fact that the remote has a few apps so that you can go directly to the channels.
There was one thing on the negative side about the player. At one point this player’s remote did not work. I tried everything even taking out the battery. That made it work for a second. Then, when I put new batteries in, it worked. Since I have had it, I had to do this three times. I thought it was that I used the earphones a lot more than I use it without. But, I am not sure why it quits. For me, this makes it not so great.

Big Upgrade

I had an older, lower tier Roku. This one not only provides more free channels, it has overall more storage space. The best feature is the remote with earbuds, which are included. Now I can watch tv and not bother anyone else. As with the older Roku, I love being able to freeze, rewind, and fast forward.

Must have for cord cutters!

I decided to cut the cord and live off digital antenna and a streaming box. Roku has been great to watch Amazon, Hulu and Netflix. The cross-channel search function is amazing. Awesome channels are WatchESPN, CBS and PBS. Super easy to use and hasn't frozen on me yet (after 9 months of use).

We bought the Roku two and I was a little worried because I am not good with technology at all. I was so happy to find that it was really easy to set up (yes, I did it all by myself!) and even easier to use! Thank you
