We purchased the Roku 2 to stream for are granddaughters when visiting & movies for us. We have tried many channels and everything works GREAT.

I bought the Roku 2 @ the beginning of the Summer, and my kids almost fight over who gets to watch it! Getting rid of the DVR this fall I can catch up on all my shows on the Roku!

I bought this so I could watch my on line movies on my new bigger TV screen and it works like a charm. As a lifelong movie buff and senior citizen, I was interested in a larger format and a simple set up. It's great!

Have roku on one television and smart tv on the other television and the television with roku will not give you the choice of a profile even though two profiles were set. Also, roku has started not turning on. when I read the directions that came with the roku the diagram and information reports there is an on/off button on the side toward the back of the roku and there is not on/off button. I plugged into a different outlet on the expensive surge strip and two days later had to do the same because roku wouldn't turn on. Two days later I noticed the roku was very, very warm, and wouldn't' turn on. I unplugged the roku, waited and plugged the roku into the wall outlet where there is no surge protection. Today roku is working. Also, had to purchase new batteries after owning the roku for about two months When roku is working, we really enjoy the choices it gives us. Netflix is what is used most often.

We really love our Roku2. It loads a little on the slow side even thought we are running a 100meg network. Will be upgrading to a Roku3 in the near future.

Prefer my old Sony features.

The set-up was extremely easy even for me who is technologically inept. The choices I make come up quick. However, I much prefer the graphics on my old Sony streamer. Unless I just haven't figured it out, when I call up a TV series that I have been watching, I can't tell which episodes I have watched. My obsolete Sony had a page of episodes numbered in a black box. After an episode was watched the black box was blacked out, making the episodes watched instantly known. Also, movies or TV episodes that were in my que were shown on a page of 12. I could scroll up and down the pages making it easy to find the show I was looking for. If problems came up, an 800 phone number was given for technological support, rather than e-mailing a problem to customer support at an impersonal e-mail address.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
