Excellent value

I've had this for a few weeks and I'm very happy with it. So many choices, there is always something on. I like being able to watch video on my tv rather than through my laptop. Picture quality is excellent. The headphone jack on the remote is also a nice feature when watching late at night.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy Set-Up

Pros- Easy set-up, easy of use, good wifi connect-ability, good show viewing. I'm using an older large screen TV and thus needed RCA cabling only available on the Roku 2.
Cons- Software seems antiquated. My Netflix options and choices on my TV, computer, iPad are full-functioning. On my Roku 2, the menuing, viewer account selection, and show description are very limited or non-existent. If only this were updated.
Overall, this is a good solution for older TVs to access Netflix, HuluPlus, etc.

You can live without Cable or Satellite.

I was very leery of this product but I took a chance and am glad I did. I use a digital antenna for local channels. For everything else the Roku is used as a gateway or it provides me with the channels I want to watch.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Why would anyone choose cable over Roku?

I tell people about Roku anytime they start talking to me about getting cable, and trying to save money. I love my Roku streaming player. I can watch almost anything I want, and if I want to add a paid channel I am free to do this also, however, I am quite satisfied with the variety of free viewing that comes with Roku itself, especially YouTube. There is a one time payment for the Roku player, but it provides ongoing free and low cost video viewing. What more can I say? Roku is great!
