Super product!

Roku provides so many options, I purchased one for every television in my home. It is definitely an option to Cable or Satellite and little cost. The joy is that you get to choose what channels you spend your money rather than have the Cable or Satellite choosing for you and giving you channels that are of no interest!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this a year ago, It offers many channels of stuff to watch, not always current shows. Each channel has different thing. Many channels that have really good programs can cost you (aka Netflix). We got it to watch Netflix, but now we have a bluray and wii system that do that. We got the REDBOX program too so we don't watch the roku pay per view movies. I do wish it were easier to navigate the menus and search for movies, another reason I gave up on it and went to just Netflix and Redbox

One thing that ruinined it

I started with the first Roku. That was an awesome product. Still have it & other than a short in the box (duct tape all makes it better) it still works great. The Roku 2 not so great. It is more user friendly than the first & I love the head phone feature BUT it over heats after about an hour of watching & then shuts down & restarts.I use an icepack & a towel to keep it cool and no problem. I like that the design is sleek but I would prefer vents that will allow it to cool down. If were not for this big issue I would have given the product 5 stars.One star on "content" because there are no parental settings.

I read a review of the new features compared with my Roki1 which I had for several years, especially the ability to have undertitles for Netflix streaming. The setup was easy and the new look (and use of the remote) is great. Glad I stepped up to 2.

Easy to use and less expensive than cable

I find I have better choices using Netflix with my Roku as opposed to the high cost of cable. Roku includes Crackle which is Free and various single pay movie channels. Roku is a great alternative.

The Roku 3 is amazing. The Roku 3 is stable, fast, and I haven't had a lick of trouble with it. The Roku 3 is amazing.
The only reason to have a Roku 2 is if you have a TV that predates HDMI. Whatever you do, don't buy a Roku 2 on price point, or because you don't want to spring for a HDMI cable. The Roku 2 is constantly locking up or the buffer fills up and it starts acting erratically. When it works, the Roku 2 is fine. But frequently the Roku 2 is an exercise in frustration. Don't buy the Roku 2 unless you absolutely have to.

Why I love my roku player

HI, I have had the roku player for about a year and with a Netflix subscription have saved so much money comparatively to paying for Direct or satellite television services. You can watch popular shows on there and I love the movies they are pretty awesome.

I have a Roku 3 before and buy Roku 2 afterwards. The features in Roku 3 are much better and much faster. I recommend to buy Roku 3 instead.
