I bought my Roku in January, and I love it. I am able to watch almost all of my programs and a lot of old shows that I love, at a fraction of the cost of cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not what i expected

We bought this thinking we could escape cable (Directv) and boy were we wrong. All the channels needed a code to watch them and Directv doesnt authorize it at this time. But we didn't get why we needed codes to watch these channels if we wanted to get rid of our cable. It was also slow and or freezes and turned off. We had the roku 2 for a few days and returned it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Remote--BUT!

This is a great product! Small, reliable, and very easy to navigate. The 'BUT' I threw in there is that if I had to purchase another one (which I may shortly when I get a TV in my bedroom) I would get the Roku 3 which has the alphanumeric keys. It's slow trying to input information with the onscreen keypad and navigating with the directional keys.

It would be a lot better if when a channel says free, it is free. It's very annoying when you download a channel, you then have to go online and after you punch in the code it then it says either a free 3 day, week or month. That to me is not free. I don't want to worry about whether or not I cancelled the channel. It is very frustrating.

I bought this about ten months ago and my only complaint is a lack of sleep from watching it too much. Great product, works exactly as described, and is easy to setup.
