Great Invention, BUT Volume Sucks!

I received this item as a gift and it's great, but the volume sucks! I have tried different HDMI cables and ports on my TV. The ROKU is the problem. On my TV, a comfortable listening level is 26. the ROKU needs to be set to at least 60. This is not right. I cannot, in good faith, recommend the ROKU2. This is a shame because other than the sound problem, it's good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Never thought in my lifetime i would be able watch films/programming on demand. Quality is excellent, but sometimes buffering is a nuisance. Small price to pay. I think this is still early on in the streaming lifetime and expect it to improve markedly. Thank you Roku...

We have purchased two Roku 2's for ourselves and 2 more for gifts for others! Love the seamless and intuitive way they work. We've had no issues with our Roku units whatsoever. Connectivity via our wireless network at home works consistently and keeps it's HD connection. We use it primarily to access our service at Amazon Prime and also replays of our church services!

Good alternative to pay tv

I purchased one to check it out. Initially, finding free tv series that we liked was not easy. Finding free movies is very easy. Streaming TV has a way to go, but we were happy enough to buy two more Roku units. The Roku runs very hot, in my opinion. I have them set up on 4 quarters to act as a heat sink and allow air to move under them.
I would recommend this to a friend!
