I don't recall the purchase date, but it quit working several days ago. An older version is also inoperative. I actually have a third model that works so far so far.
I will call for help after an upcoming trip.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Before purchasing the Roku 2, I researched Google and other streaming devices. Several friends suggested Roku. When setting it up I realized it was very easy to setup and start using this marvelous device. So easy to use to get into and out of and it has opened up a plethora of movies and movies channels. Highly recommend this device: Easy setup, Easy use and quite reasonable.

THE ROKU 2 I PURCHASED HAS BEEN THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER PURCHASED,I EVEN LET MY DISH GO AND SAVE MONEY,BECAUSE WITH A TOUCH OF THE REMOTE I CAN ACCESS NETFLIX,HULU PLUS AND ALL THE OTHER 100;S OF FREE STREAMING STATIONS,BEST DEVICE EVER MADE.

I've been using this for a few months now. Most of what we watch are channels that are available through our cable subscription (Disney XD, ESPN, HBOgo, etc.) I love that this one connects to our SD TV, but will be able to go HD when we replace it. It never stutters over our N900 wifi connection.
