I don't miss any of the things that network TV has to offer. I can pick and choose and not have to pay the big bucks.

With my other 2 televisions under the controls of my wife and my son, I can go up to the bedroom where we have basic cable and watch HBO on demand, Netflix, and TWC on demand and watch all the shows I would watch if I were lucky enough to get control of one of the other TV's.

Only had it for a week but it works like a charm. Was simple to setup on my home network. Mostly use for Netflix but easy to explore other available channels. Very happy so far.

Wifi antennae too strong

I was really looking forward to using my Roku 2 but after I plugged it in (it did work great), I found that it overwhelmed many of the wifi connections in my house. My wifi extension devices (AirPort Extremes) just gave up. Even my laptop near the router became dead slow, and my wireless backup system was disrupted. Plus, it even interfered with my cell phone coverage, which seemed really weird. I tried a number of things, like moving it to another part of the house, and even encasing it in aluminum foil (yes, I did that), all to no avail. I finally unplugged it, and after a week or so of restarting all of my devices, everything came back to normal. Now, I know that there's some super duper wifi built into the Roku 2, but it just seemed to overwhelm my somewhat older electronic equipment. I haven't dared plug it back in again, and am now back to using my 5 year old Wii to access Netflix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I tried this last month and found that there was not enough content offered that appealed to me. There were way too many children's programs. I returned it just 2 days after I received it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this about 2 months ago and am so glad I did. I got rid of most of the cable movie channels I was paying extra for. So much to choose from!

Great features and great price

Great small size. My roku 2 will start streaming almost instantly with a lower video quality and improve as the internet service catches up. The addition of the YouTube channel makes the roku complete for me.
The coolest part of all is the headphone jack in the remote. I use it all the time after the family is in bed.
The one negative I see is how you search. Too much button pushing to get to the letters. I use the smartphone app to get a full keyboard search. For YouTube, make sure to connect through any other device (laptop, smartphone) to search. The built-in search is mostly useless and cumbersome.
