Better than streaming from my Laptop

I used to stream Netflix from my laptop (with HDMI cable). Now that I use the Roku 2 (with HDMI cable). The picture is much better quality and there is no buffering or delay in the stream. It loads and plays seamlessly. I love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to install and great choice of programs

We ended our satellite TV service because the ads were overwhelming and we did not like most programming. We started to streamTV to our computer but then found roku. Wonderful viewing quality! We choose which paid and free sites to use and they are great choices (even weather and top news stories). Our TV is not a flat screen so we were excited to find a streaming device that would connect to it!

Not sure why I waited so long

I've had my Roku for a couple of months now. I don't know why I waited so long to get one. I use it primarily to stream Netflix and it works great!

Too early for Internet TV

I returned my Roku 2 after a couple of days. If you have lots of time to figure out what channels you want to subscribe to and can find the channels that are on paid services, such as DishTV, then try it out. It is confusing right now because there are so many packages and you have to do your research online to see what channels are offered with different packages. I will probably try again in a couple of years when Internet TV will be more popular.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The only negative is that the signal keeps getting dropped or the movies will not load at all due to a bad reception. Everything else that is connected to the same wireless works fine with the exception of the Roku that does not seem to be able to connect.

Great features!

I bought this a year ago and am happy with the purchase. The device overheats after 8 hours though so don't plan on long consecutive marathons. Make sure you also have good batteries for the remote controller. I've had to refresh the controller pairing with the device multiple times. The product is nice and shiny.

Easy and powerful

I bought this about 6 months ago and can't imagine being without it. I'm soon going to upgrade my TV, and everything I've read tells me that there's no reason to buy a "smart" TV, because the Roku does everything I'd need and has a better interface. My favorite channels are PLEX (which allows me to watch shows that my cable lineup doesn't include) and PBS. I also love the ability to plug earphones into the remote.

Really like the Roku awesome to have the feature with the headphones I wish the size was the same as the original Roku but very good product affordable TV viewing space saving and worth the investment
