Love Roku, always have!

We have had Roku's for years and upgraded our old one with a newer Roku 2, and we love it more than the original ones we had. I love the subtitles feature, and access to You Tube.

Great, but outdated...

The Roku 2 (the one I have) is an awesome little device. It actually streams Netflix and other streaming video vendors better than our smart TV. It has an extremely easy and user-friendly interface that is intuitive right out of the box. I will buy again IF mine ever tuckers out...
The ONLY problem I have with Roku is how fast a new generation comes out. The Roku 2 we have does not support the Netflix profiles. It will only let you stream on the main person's account. Not that big of a deal, but would be nice. I might add that the profile feature was introduced after the Roku 2 so it is not a software problem created by Roku. It is just the nature of the beast concerning technology. It is, however, pretty annoying sometimes.

Great product... wouldn't change much

i have 3 ruku's in my house, and i love them! We have made the change to full internet tv. I thought this would be a fairly tough move since we all have been on cable since i can remember. Best move in a long time!
The positives-
watch your favorite shows when you want to.
No need to worry about filling up the DVR
easy hook up and use.
The bluetooth remote is awesome! no blind spots
ear phone jack on remote is perfect for the bedroom
remote control app, great for searching, (use of full keyboard)
The Negative-
Not all networks stream shows on the internet (Discovery) some have
clips but not episodes.

We bought from this from Best Buy. The employee was helpful in telling us which type was good, better, and best! I was impressed with how easy it was to set up and start using!

Cut the cable and satelite addiction

This is our second Roku. We have a Roku 3 as well. We tried the Roku 3 and decided to get a second one for an additional TV. We have since disconnected from Direct TV and only use our Roku for television. It works perfect and we have had no issues. I hope that more channels will start moving to internet television. Ala-Cart is the way to go. No more paying for channels that I don not watch.

Awesome Device!!

I have (3) Roku's, (2) of this version. Aside from freezing up every once in a blue moon, this is a fantastic product. My family watches a majority of their TV/movies through the Roku. The video is very clear HD, and the choices of content is limitless. We primarily use Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Amazon, and Pandora. I have been able to convert most of my DVD's to digital with Vudu and can stream on demand.
I also love the headphone jack on the remote. This is a nice option, especially at night when the house needs to be quiet. With a good set of headphones, the sound quality is excellent.
If you do not own a smart TV, this is a very inexpensive unit to make your TV smart.

Extremely Easy to set up and use

Brought it home and it was up and running, including wifi, in under 10 minutes. Recommended it as an alternative to paid cable or satellite services.

new way of technology

I am a divorced dad of 3 of the best kids. We started with the streaming stick and then went the roku media for hi def. Its the best out there.
