I paid satellite tv for 20 yrs. and was never totally satisfied with it. What a waste of money and at their mercy for what to watch, no more. With ROKU I watch what I want when I want. I can spend the rest of my life watching this and still not see it all. No matter what your taste in entertainment is you can find it with ROKU. Thumbs Up.

Cheaper than an AppleTV, Clearer than a Chromecast

This is my second Roku that I have owned, I also own an XD. What I'm most happy about is the features and interface of the 2. The controller app is way better than the remote, which eats batteries for lunch. I have friends with AppleTV's and Chromecasts, and I would say that the Roku is far superior to both.
Occasionally, the device freezes. Keep in mind, it's on 24/7, during use and not. Freezing happens once every few months. It's easy to fix with a simple un-plug, then plug back in.

I love the control I have with the Roku. I have waited for a long time for a way to make my TV exactly the way I want it to be and Roku is absolutely an answer to my prayers. No commercials, no junk cable channels. I turn it on and only see what I want to see. I know my children can only access the stations I have placed on the Roku and I love love love that nearly every channel I chose has no commercials. I really like renting moving through Roku also. Simple, cheap, lots and lots of choices and I don't have to worry about losing any DVD's. And wow! It's free every month, I just pay for the channels I want and many of my favorite channels are free! Also we get our internet through our phone line because we live in the middle of nowhere and I am so surprised how great the viewing on my Roku is even though I don't have very fast internet. Thank you and I hope the Roku is around for many, many years.

By far... BY FAR the most excellent thing to happen to my television habits since the invention of the DVR.
I am a super big techie and have always been excited by the possibility of streaming as many media formats as possible to one device. Roku does it incredibly well. I might even say perfectly.
I highly recommend using the Plex App to stream from a media server/computer.
