bought it three years ago and another a year ago for a home in another state, its better than cable and dish, we've had both, couldn't be happier with the roku

Bought this about 6 months ago and we (the family) loves it. Pros - watch what you want, when you want. Works well. Easy to use / setup. Cons - While they boost 100+ channels, most of it is not compelling (IMHO), but there is enough to keep us entertained and informed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A "Mixed" review - Some good, mostly not so good.

Problems with streaming continuity from cable source. Repeated reloading required with continual interruptions of service with intervals of 5 - 8 minutes typically ending with inability to watch selected programming, constant error messages. Roku 2 "hockey puck" (component) heats to a surprising high temperature while in use. Re-booting (unplugging and checking all connections) all related Wi-Fi components does not resolve problem. Cable service provider claims this problem is not from their service as does Roku .. ? Patience is "stretched thin" with this Roku consumer !
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cable company blocks so many channels-not worth it

We bought this hoping to expand our viewing options. However, you need permission from the cable company to see most of the channels and that access is always denied. Thus, it was a waste of money for us.
