More finicky than original

Here's my take: (1) connected to a standard not HDMI tv (2) freezes up more than original that I had for more than 3 yrs (3) displays "smallish" screen and menus sometimes that never happened on first Roku/other times everything is normal (4) transmits some "noise" on blank screen that never happened on first Roku (5) better menu navigation and channel choices (6) disappointed generally with the upgraded version
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than cable

This is the perfect solution to cable. You can choose what to watch when you'd like...many selections. This is one of my favorite little gizmos...I have 3! So what does that say....I like!!!

TV for Less

I've had my Roku 2 since December and can't imagine watching TV without it. I have gotten rid of cable so I am saving money, but I still see all of my favorite programs. The Roku is a great investment.

Roku 2 Battery Life is Poor

I bought this Roku model for the earbud feature so I would not disturb my wife while watching the programs. It works great for that and the sound is great. The problem is, the battery life is less than 5 hours and then the sound cuts out. Then, you must not only replace the batteries, you must also sync the handheld unit to the console or it will not work. Roku should either make the batteries rechargeable or improve the quality so that you can get longer battery life.

so easy to use

We never even heard of the Roku before someone at the store told us about it. We took it home, hooked it up in minutes and started using it. It is amazing. We have been very satisfied with Roku. We cancelled our Dish and have saved hundreds of dollars.

I love my Roku player. It works very well and very nicely compliments my TV watching. I would encourage everyone to buy one. They are great devices. It allows you so much more freedom to enjoy your TV.

I have both Roku 1 & 2. I love them both. The Roku 2 is a great price right now. If you are not a gamer, there is little difference between the 2 and the 3

We have a DVR system and getting to Netflix is an ordeal. The Roku is very simple, easy to use, and convenient. I am considering getting a second one for our den.
