I bought this model because it was the most advanced for the type of TV I have, an old one without HDMI. It was the first Roku device that I purchased and it has been a great buy. Yes, it not as fast as the Roku 3 but it really compliments my entertainment system by giving me an alternate source of entertainment. Still, if you have a modern flat-screen HD TV then buy all means for a Roku 4.

Could use some better firmware

I like the fact that I have many channels available which in reality are internet channels delivered to this set top box (Roku). What makes this device average however is the fact that often I have to reboot the unit because the screen either has a distorted view or the program stops to reload. I have a 12Mbs internet service with the router in the next room approx. 20 feet away. I am not sure what causes these glitches perhaps other than the firmware may be malfunctioning. I have never received any updates from Roku if indeed there were any.
The bottom line, if you already own a laptop or tablet you can connect via HDMI or RCA cables to your TV, you can save yourself some money taking that route.
Roku, you may need to work on developing your edge in order to set your product apart from what already exists in tablet technology today. Just my two cents worth.

I had one ruko 2 and I had to get another, because, I was very happy with the first one.
Set up was easy and they work on any tv ,also there are a truck load of apps to download .

After a few weeks we find we are using ROKU almost more than our cable. We particularly like all of the British Stations.
