I purchased the Roku 2 after falling in love with the Roku 3. The Roku 3 makes watching TV and movies easy. I especially like the Netflix interface; it's simple and intuitive. I should have purchased a second Roku 3, but decide to save some cash after reading reviews of the Roku 2. Well, the 2 just didn't live up to everything I loved about the 3. I pretty much regret this purchase and with I would have bought another 3.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Roku 2 is the 4th in the house and the most used. While it is slower than the Roku 3, it is equally capable and easy to use.

Very easy to set up! Can access Amazon Prime!

I've used the Roku 2 for a few months and really like it. The only thing I miss is the ability to use iCloud photos as a screensaver and access my iTunes items ~ but, being able to use my Amazon Prime outweighs this. I had an Apple TV unit prior to the Roku and the biggest problem was the inability to access my Amazon Prime.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am considering getting rid of my cable because the ease my Roku 2 gives us for using Netflix and purchasing current movies takes the need for cable away.

Great little device

I bought this primarily to use while running on the treadmill. The built-in headphone jack on the remote allows me to be a reasonable distance from the TV and enjoy my entertainment without having to crank up volume on the TV.
