I bought a Roku player for my office TV and it has never worked so I replaced it with a different system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Features and Works CONSISTENTLY

I was given a ROKU player by my daughter and son-in-law after my RCA device began experiencing hiccups from age and use. I love the display and the channel store. Watching my budget, I discovered so many free options to view in my TV time. I am absolutely thrilled with the work-horse stamina of the streamlined mechanical apparatus. The remote for the ROKU is easy to hold and use for maneuvering within the Roku channel settings, and looks shiny and clean on the coffee table. I have recommended this to face-to-face friends as well as to some on the social networking sites. The cost pays for itself within the first three months by decreasing DVD rentals, and even through choosing not to have streaming media rentals. My grandsons find themselve with unbelievable choices to keep them entertained during down times. I am a most satisfied customer!

Unit works quite well, although some of the apps need a UI redo. Most notably the YouTube app.

Great selection, available when you want it. If you get interrupted, it remembers exactly where you were. Easy to set up. Many choices for content.
