We have cut the cable and satellite and have gone completely with internet TV. Roku has done the job to fit our needs, we are able to get all of the shows and movies we want plus. Great product.

Reception Disappointment

Channels are not up to date with Episodes and Seasons, example Heartland is missing Season 6 and 7. Also, many interruptions during play constant reloading or retrieving.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Fetures!

I have the original one and wanted to add another one to a different room. The newer version has a lot more featured than the original and I like the remote better too. The original is great and this is just a better version of great.

Solid improvement on Roku 1

My original Roku died within the first year and I was bummed that the Roku2 would follow suit, but have been presently surprised. The headphone attachment was genius and the player has been a solid work horse. Go Roku 2 or go home, there's no going back!

We received our Roku 2 as a wedding present. It streams our Netflix, Amazon, and Pandora just great. My only issue with it is that you can't access the different users on Netflix like we can on our Playstation 3. The reason for us wanting the roku was so we wouldn't have to stream through our PS3 anymore. But not being able to switch between our users is kind of a pain. My husband doesn't exactly enjoy the fact that I'm watching my reality shows under his profile, but I have no choice because his is the default. Overall though, the Roku 2 does run smoothly, and my shows do stream better through it than our PS3 did. We just wish the Netflix app would update so we can switch between the user profiles.

Would be excellent, but it overheats & shuts down

I love product's concept, and when it works it is great. I subscribe to Netflix, Hulu Plus, and MLB and have no problems with the connections (other than MLB which is a ongoing problem with MLB, not Roku). About once a week, the unit apparently overheats and shuts down. It will take unplugging the unit for as little as 30 seconds to several minutes before it will start again. This started after about a month.

Awesome Little Streamer

I have purchased 3 different Roku devices. I have owned all 3 of their models and I have one in every room in our home. We are a household that CUT the cable bill and are extremely happy we did. I have the Roku 3 in the living room and is my device of choice because of the extended range wireless and processor. But we have the Roku 2 in our bedroom and it's just as nice without the continuous play. * wish they would add to all models. These 2 models are our favorite and the guest room does have the lower end model but it does the job and is rarely used. All 3 have great streaming quality and I have not had any problems streaming at all and I believe this has to do with your Internet provider and the device you use. Roku would kill the market if they would convince these networks to sell channel packages. They are extremely easy to set up I do recommend a top of the line HDMI cable instead of rca.connections. much better quality.

Great Investment

After doing my homework on what to buy, and competitor's product I am happy I settled on Roku. It's compact, economical, easy to install and operate. The quality of the pictures are excellent. Roku has wonderful Customer Service. The technical support is exceptional. Their troubleshooting is great and the technicians are very patient and knowledgeable. I am considering purchasing a new Roku to attach to a second tv.
