After suffering thru MLB.TV's streaming player for PC's, I decided to try a ROKU in order to get better service. The ROKU works much better, with very few annoying "buffering" pauses, unlike the PC player. I don't know who does the programming for MLB, but they need to get ROKU's player, or at least, get ROKU's programmers to fix or replace their miserable attempt at a online streaming player.

I have the Roku 1 and have enjoyed it much, so I purchased the 2 so I could put my 1on a different tv. I'm considering purchasing more for other tv's.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't tried any other product other than ROKU so I am biased. This product works. I also have the HD version and love it even more. I like the headset connection, the user interface, the easy process for adding new channels. Simply put, great media experience.

Finally no lost connections!

I love the Roku 2. It's so user friendly. I frequently lost my connection with the wireless blu-ray I have. It was so frustrating. With Roku 2, I never lose a connection and the streaming is perfect. Rewind and play is fast. I love the 7 second review if you didn't hear something in the show. I would love it if the remote lit up in the dark.

BIG improvement over Gen 1 Roku

I bought one of the first Rokus and loved it. Then I wanted to take advantage of the upgraded speed and services. The Roku 2 is a huge improvement. It connects nearly instantly and the downloads are quick and free of stalls. This was definitely a good investment. I've already told people to buy it.

Love it but.....

I got the Roku with the headphone jack on the remote and I really like it. However, it sucks up batteries - everytime I turn around I have to replace them, it makes it's way more costly than I could have expected. I had a Roku without the earphone jack and had no problem. What is it about the jack that makes it drain battaries? I have 2 of them and they are both the same, very disappointing. For this reason I'm only giving it 4 stars. I would recommend it to a friend with the caveat that it is costly to use, not to buy, but to use.
