I asked for this for Christmas so that I could watch Netflix in my bedroom without having to connect my computer to the TV--now my laptop rests easily at night!

I purchased this to replace the use of a Blu-ray player for on-line access. It has proven to be a very good decision. No freeze-ups, and very easy to use.

Great little device!

I bought my Roku 2 about a month ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase. It is a great little streaming device that has A LOT of channels available. The only negative I have to say is that HBO GO does not work with my provider (xfinity - Comcast). The app is available but you can not get it to work because of licensing. Hopefully this gets ironed out sooner rather than later. I chose the Roku 2 because it has the ability to connect to to a TV with RCA plugs and HDMI. Not all of my TVs are LCD yet so that feature was very important to me. I compared to the Roku to the other streaming devices and chose the Roku and I'm very happy I did.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gets the job done

purchased my roku2 about a year ago, the device has gotten the job done, but in the last months it seems to crash quite frequently. I have both a roku and chromecast, and I must say best bang for your buck is the chromecast. The best feature on the roku is the headphone jack on the remote.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's OK, but software seems antiquated

Easy to use, but I'm not really thrilled that the Netflix software seems to be antiquated and clunky. Been reading online that it would be updated, but that's been said for a long time. You cannot choose different profiles. Very frustrating.
