better than smart TV

We bought a small 'smart TV' and found that the smart features didn't work well, and were difficult to use. We exchanged this for the same TV 'dumb' model, and bought a Roku-2 which worked immediately, and continues to work well now after about 6 months. We're pleased with it, and use it primarily for streaming movies. The remote might be a bit better if the controls were a bit larger.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything works so well on the Roku and it is extremely easy to use! I haven't had any issues with my apps, and I love the fact I can rent movies on it.

Nice unit when it works

I have owned my Roku now for almost a year and I have had intermittent issues with Volume control since the beginning but those were just an inconvenience. Recently however it has begun dropping the internet connection in my house and I am hardly able to use it at all any more. I am able to use every other wireless device on the same network with no problems but the roku keeps telling me it is connected only to then not connect to netflix or hulu. Is there any solution other than a hard reset? I ask that only because I have tried that already and it has done nothing to change the functionality

I LIKE MR ROKU, BUT TWO AREA NEED TO BE ADDRESS: 1) ROKU OVER HEAT. THERE'S NO AIR HOLDS, 2) SHOULD BE ABLE TO MANAGES THE FEATURE ON THE TV AS YOU DO ON THE COMPUTER.

Easy to use

Easy to use, and very happy that a YouTube app has been added. Connects to my old TV, but also has HDMI port if/when I upgrade to a new TV. Typing in search terms is cumbersome, but that's easily gotten around by adding titles to Netflix account from laptop computer.

I bought this 6 months ago and could not be happier ! I have found that I rarely watch TV with my cable subscription any longer and am seriously considering getting rid of it permanently. The only drawback is that it goes off-line at times for no apparent reason. I simply unplug then replug the modem and wireless router and that does the trick !

I love roku-You watch what you want to watch WITHOUT commercials. I control what the grand kids watch. and they love it.
