got two lemons

My first Roku worked for two weeks and then died. I exchanged it for another and the same thing happened. It died before two weeks passed. I returned it and gave up. So sad, because I really liked the idea.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super easy to set-up & a better picture than the expensive satellite service I cancelled after buying the roku 2. In fact, we bought a second one, too. We don't use the earphones, but I can see how they would be useful in a bedroom. There is a lot of free content to start with, but I would totally recommend getting netflix or at least one pay service, especially if you have kids-- it makes the transition from cable/ satellite a little easier-- having some more familiar shows to watch. You really won't be disappointed.

I have a Samsung Blue Ray Player that has streaming available. Don't use it that much since I got Roku 2. Very good Menu and easy to add channels. Very easy to navigate. Very happy with the purchase.
