It does a fine job, until it downloads an update

I bought this for my father as a birthday present to use with Redbox Instant. It setup easily and with the exception of a previously installed Internet router with poor WiFi, it performed nicely until the Roku player downloaded a software update. The update removed Redbox instant from his favorite channels and restored Netflix. This update required an immediate drive over to his place to correct. Roku should really learn to create a backup or at the very least leave preferences and favorites alone.

Roku is amazing

My wife and I were tired of dish regularly raising rates and eliminating content. So, we decided to try Roku. We are pleasantly surprised at the content, especially the archives. It is great fun to use our new Roku.

I love this device. It solves so many problems for me that I can never go back to not having a ROKU device. It far surpasses my Apple TV. I recommend that you buy one if you like British TV like the TV show on PBS stations plus way more than that amount. We cannot live without it noe\w.

I love my Roku. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is that there is a child in my household that also watches Roku and it would be great if each of us could log into Roku separately. I don't think it is good for a child to see what I have been watching, especially if I like to watch scary or sexy movies. I think when the Roku is turned on the TV, each person should have his or her own logo to click on and have his or her own history of what was watched and favorite shows. My child likes to watch family type or teen shows but unfortunately since all the shows are bunched in together, she does not have her own section and has to see what I have been watching. If you could change this, Roku would be awesome and get 5 stars.

I bought this as an alternative to the rising cable costs and found it suits my needs much more than cable ever could. And the endless adult movie choices keep a true devotee like myself positively addicted!!!
