I have an HDTV I bought in 2004 & wanted to watch Netflix on it but could not because the older TV didn't have an HDMI connection. I looked around & noticed I could use a digital to HDMI cable from the TV's digital input connection to the Roku device. Was so happy when I could cancel the cable company that kept raising the price. Love the Roku very much. Love the content that's available, very nice. Some free channels have ads but you would expect that. Hated having basic cable with ads that I'm paying to watch. With Roku some have ads but I'm not paying to watch them. I get by very well without the cable or satellite by using an antenna & the Roku device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Roku device and affordable, but Roku 3 is better with a small difference. The roku 2 do the work, but is little slow. For better experience, leave on all times, do not turn off, because the boot takes so looong.

I've had my Roku for 6 months and I have loved every moment of it! It is so easy to use and the shortcut buttons on the remote are a great feature. I love being able to plug my headphones into the remote, it's a really good thing to have when you share a room with someone else.

I have 2 roku's and I love them. I can get most of our regular shows. At night I enjoy watching tv with the ear buds so that I do not disturb anyone.

Good but could be better

I like everything you can get, but disappointed the interface is not more modern. Also, You can't subscribe to any sports networks, at least from the channel store. Currently using for netflix and amazon prime. Many of the other channels are kinds of weak in content. Not much selection.
