Best Item I have bought in a long time!

I bought both the ROKU 1 for Granddaughter and ROKU 2 for Husband over 3 months ago. Very happy with both, setup was so easy and works on old TV and new HD TV with no problems at all. Who needs cable! I only had to change dial up internet to DSL. With the live channels, even weather and Movies we are never bored. Wish we had done this years ago would of saved lots of money. The only problem I now have is getting them away from it. I had Netflix and Hulu plus for my computer b-4 we got the ROKU's and with them if didn't cost any more to add ROKU's to acct's I just put in my pass code for my acct. The remote have buttons for fast connections. So easy to use, even my husband who refuses to use a computer or even try and learn can use this with no problems at all. If you have DSL internet buy it you will not be disappointed.

My Roku 2

I've had my Roku 2 for quite a few months now. I love the stereo headphone jack on the unit, I use that feature exclusively. The batteries last a reasonable amount of time, but I keep extra's near by. The device is dependable, no problems so far. I have 4 various Roku devices. Originally had a Sony, Roku blew it away, that's why I went with all Roku's.The 4 quick access buttons (Mgo, Amazon, Netflix, Blockbuster) are a great feature. The navigation buttons seem better placed to me, the onscreen prompts and menus seem more organized also. It does seem to run hot but it hasn't been a problem. All in all I am very satisfied with my Roku 2.

At first I was not sure how I was going to like it. We have used it for a few months and my whole family likes it. We also stream Amazon and Netflix. This leads to my one thing I would like to see changed. On the Roku Netflix home screen there is no way to search through all movies and through categorys. It only brings up recommendations. I would be real cool to see this changed.

Doesn't work most of the time

I bought this Roku a month ago for our bedroom. We have a Roku in our living room that is awesome. Its the first Roku that came out. So I got this Roku for our bedroom. It doesn't work most of the time. It either can't connect to my wifi or when it does it has to buffer every 10 minutes. I have to unplug it and move it around to try to gey it to work. If I could've found the receipt I would've returned it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku's are great products. The best part is, if you pay for subscription channels, you have commercial free television. Netflix is the best and cheapest, The bad thing is most non-subscription channels are not high quality; they take too long to load, have poor video, and no closed captioning. Also, live streaming is very limited on Roku's.
