Excellent media player

The Roku 2 is a great streaming media player. Set up is easy and there are a lot of different channels to choose from. I've found that I've used it a lot more than I thought I would. It's a great addition to a TV that doesn't have built-in streaming. I would highly recommend it.

I received the Roku as a birthday gift in May. I'm able to access channels that my tv server does not have. I have others to purchase the Roku. I enjoy not having the advertisements like regular network tv.

I bought the Roku 2 player a few months ago now and I have not been disappointed. It works very well, the channels are easy to find, I love being able to plug in my headset in the remote and it is tiny so hardly takes any space.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great alternative to cable

My family is not a huge watcher of current TV programs and had a difficult time finding something to watch on cable. Roku has given us options that fit our style of viewing.

Roku itself works fine: easy to install, picture is good, etc.. Is my first use of internet-based TV, though, and found little of interest during my free month of Netflix (kept telling me that all I needed was to subscribe to their DVD service!) and tried browsing other channels with similar disappointment. Thought maybe I could cut off cable and instead use internet plus small number of paid channels, instead, but am disappointed so far.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Innovative features!

I still have and old style Television that does not have all the fancy connections on it. This ROKU was the only device I could find that would still hook up to my tv. Saving me money and time looking around for a television that I did not need yet.
