Unit is very handy, before I was using my laptop and had to move it and hook it up to watch on line. Now I just turn on the TV and start watching, unit can stay connected.

I am so glad that I bought this Roku, it makes life so much easier! I can watch my shows whenever I want to on my TV :) The visual quality is excellent as well.

I have used Roku 2 for the last 3 years and liked it so much that I purchased a second unit this year. I enjoy the Netflix, Hulu Plus and Crackle movies and TuneIn Radio applications for 90% of my usage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked for a little while and then kept overheating and crashing after attempting to update.

Have had this since Christmas. It overheats and freezes constantly. I have to keep it unplugged when not in use since it doesn't come with an on/off switch. Takes a long time to reboot. I can usually only get a couple of hours of use before it freezes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received my Roku 2 player as a gift in January 2014. It started out as a great device. However, as time went on; the performance started to degrade. At first, the menu options started to not work properly. Then as time went on, the screen started to flicker and lock up; forcing me to reset my Roku 2 player. Finally, my Roku 2 player is now unusable. The screen has a flicker that renders it useless. There is so much screen distortion that I cannot read it to make any menu selections at all. My Roku 2 started out with so much promise, but it is now nothing more than a glorified paper weight. Very disappointed!

We "cut the cord" on cable TV in March 2014 and bought a roof antenna for local stations and a Roku 2. The device has worked very well. Good choice of channels, including many that we had previously paid for with cable. We also subscribed to Netflix, so there is no shortage of movies and TV series.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If I hadn't got such a cheap price on this I would be very upset. Never gets current updates and can't really cast from my phone or tablet.
