Great Idea That Doesn't Work So Well

Setup was easy enough, seemed like a lot of free content - although just like anything else, "free" still costs you...I did not like having to sign up/input personal information on so many free stations in order to get their content (my own hangup, I guess). The streaming was rather spotty and I had to wait TOO long while the unit got ready to stream again (why on earth is there no memory buffer? then I could start the stream, come back in 1/2 hour and watch a show uninterrupted!). Easy enough to navigate. Headphones in the remote unit is a totally great idea, which worked well. But when the "free" portion of your product only barely works, I would expect there is NO WAY customers will go for the pay channels.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought it 2 weeks ago because the lack of apps on my Vizio smart TV. Vizio doesn't offer Show time Any time or HBOgo. The Roku keeps reloading/buffering or locking up while using Roku's apps, using the Netflix app on my Vizio tv I've never had any issues not so with this WiFi Roku. I've reset the Roku 3 Times and it is only inches away from my router still not doing the job. I don't this review will be published on the Roku website.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A big improvement from the 1st generation...love the headphone option on the remote and far less crashing. The presets are a major aggravation as a minor jostle of the remote while you are enjoying a roku broadcast results in a needless excursion to another channel. Truly idiotic.

I bought the Roku for my vacation home where regular TV service is not available. Roku is good for movies and some old TV shows. Unfortunately I do not have an HD TV there and so I am limited on what is available. The only thing I dislike is that many of the TV shows are a pay to view. Also newer movies are pay for view.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wouldn't waste money again. I found just having an antenna for the local channels was all I needed. I don't ever watch any of the Roku channels because the ones I want to watch aren't included or they're there, but don't include the actual shows that I want to watch. I found that just because they say they have the channel, doesn't mean they have the complete line up or worse, the station they have the show, clicking on it and all it is, is 30 second clips of the show. All those other channels are shows and movies from decades ago or don't even deserve a b rating they're so bad.
