nice head unit

This is great if you play your music with your smartphone. The CD player is awesome too. Never skips,even on the worst bumps. Bluetooth sounds great. Would of gave this an excellent if not for two things. Can't see the display in sunlight at all. Does not always return to the music after a phone call. The mount for my mic broke but probably my fault.

GREAT UNIT

the only thing I would do to improve this display is have the sirus XM info all on one screen rather than scrolling from one menu to the next. other thatn that I am very pleased with this unit!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Droid compatibility provides variety

When I decided to replace the Bose head unit in my truck, I had 2 criteria to meet. 1) Variety of music input. 2) Android compatibility.
I waited for the reviews from 2013 CES to make my decision because nothing offered in 2012 wowed me. I'm glad I waited. While price was not a major factor, value is. I don't need video or navigation. Having variety (no more over played classic rock) provided by a "DJ" without interruption and lots of choices was my goal. " I won".
Making any head unit work with a factory GM Bose amp and speakers provides challenges and I will likely replace the Bose system. Droid compatibility was a limiting factor when I was shopping. I was skeptical that Sony would provide an easy integration and can now say "I won". During this first week I can say it is easy to use and the options for sound qualities made it a great choice for me.

What's great about it: Android integration works. Lots of options for input. Great control of sound. Easy to install and operate.
What's not so great: Microphone could be integrated into face

Everything but radio reception

I just purchased one of these units after researching a great number of makes and models. I am quite happy with all aspects but one, the radio reception is substandard to say the least. In a 9 year old VW radio I was able to pick up my favorite radio station clearly no matter what the weather condition. The new SONY will not tune it no matter what.
Very disappointing and no easy fix.
