We love the ice maker. The water inside the door is nice, but we don't use it.
We had a specific measurement and this fridge fit our budget and style.

I particularly like that it does NOT have an icemaker and water dispenser in the door. The two separate crispers are very handy, the separate storage areas in the freezer are easy to access, and the side by sides give me plenty of space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this fridge for about 6 weeks now and it runs well. Keeps food nice and cold and has significant and well-designed storage space. The freezer is a tad small but works. The only drawbacks are the sliding containers for fruits and vegetables which are flimsy. They come completely out if you pull them at a normal pace.. have to move them slowly. Also, fingerprints show very clearly on stainless steel though we haven't used a special cleaner yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally purchased this model b/c I needed a smaller apartment size fridge, and I really liked the in-fridge water dispenser - I hate losing all the storage space that the traditional water dispensers take up. Unfortunately, I am on my second fridge since I originally purchased this model. I originally purchased this model in August 2012, and after several months of the fridge not working properly, I was finally able to get a replacement from the store I purchased it at. The thermistor on my original unit went out after only 2 months of use. The fridge basically became a full-size freezer. Very disappointing considering the price and rave reviews I read about it on numerous sites. I am now experiencing the same problem with it freezing food, again! We have to be careful of how much food we keep on hand, and be careful not to 'stock' the fridge (isn't that the point of having a fridge?!) My fridge and stove are side-by-side, and even though the sales man assured us that the heat from the stove wasn't causing any of the problems we've had with the fridge, i"m not convinced. I've been a loyal Kitchenaid consumer, but not sure I'd purchase a major appliance again after this experience and the price we paid.

Keeps items fresh but has a high ringing tone that is imposs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge is the right size for us, keeps produce very fresh with it's accurate temp control and we love the alarm on the doors when they have been open too long. However had we known that the it would make a high pitch ringing noise EVERY time the motor comes on we would not have purchased this refrigerator. The technician told us that it is a by-product of the energy efficient motor and the ringing noise may grow quieter over the next few months. Or, it may not. I have no issues with ice maker and motor noise but the ringing is at a tone that is incredibly irritating. If you are sensitive to high pitches do not get this fridge.
Pros: great compartments to keep produce and meat fresh, Convenient Features, Design, easy to use
Cons: high pitch ringing tone not suitable for a home
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Refrigerator issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 2 years ago and about 2 weeks before the 2 year mark, I started finding water on my kitchen floor. At first I though someone spilled something until a couple days later the same thing happened. Unfortunately, our floor is hardwood and now it has warped. We called someone out to repair and they knew exactly what it was saying there had been a recall on a part ....that we never knew about...and he fixed it. Unfortunately we had to pay to have it fixed and to have our floor fixed. We were told if we had called within the 2 years it would have been covered under warranty...how convenient that this took place the week after.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
