7+ years and still going strong

We bought this side-by-side new in December of 2008 when we bought our house. It has been great. Only problems we have had is that items tend to freeze somewhat on the refrigerator side on the top shelf on the side next to the freezer. We had to tick up the temperature on that side to help with that. We also have had some periodic issues with the ice maker getting jammed from time to time. However, clearing it seems to solve the problem. No other repairs or issues to date. I've had neighbors with GE products that moved in the same time we did and they have had to throw them out and replace them entirely. Stainless steel does show fingerprints and is very hard to keep clean with kids. Avoid the stainless steel if you have small children.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great fridge

This fridge packs a lot of neat features into a mid-sized fridge space.Some of my favorite features are:- water dispenser rotates out to allow large containers to be filled.- in-door ice storage which is removable- some of the refrigerator door shelves have removable inserts for easy cleaning- door ajar alarm (haven't had to hear it yet, but you never know)- not the quietest fridge on earth, but pretty danged good- the freezer door shelves rotate out for easy fillingThe bad:- the slide out shelve in the freezer (main shelf) gets snagged by the drawer below it. When you pull out the drawer, the shelf dumps stuff everywhere.-unexplained flashing red light in freezer. Could be the freezer disco strobe, but I haven't seen any food dancing.-ice storage needs better insulation to prevent it from slowly joining all of the ice cubes into one.

Many issues with icemaker

Ice maker does not dispense ice well. Also, I've had to replace the ice maker trey multiple times. The ice maker auger shaft will also rust requiring the motor and shaft to be replaced. I wish we had never bought this piece of junk!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
