Poor Quality

We purchased this washer based upon info. received. However, within the past 9 months of ownership it has broken down three (3) time. Two electrical issues and one (1) spin cycle pump failure (will not empty water during spin cyl.). We have been without our washer a total of thirty (30) plus days!
Pros: easy to use, when it works
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Exceeded Expectations

This is my first experience with front loading washing machines and was amazed it's cleaning ability and low water consumption. This machine has more features than I'll ever use but really like the delay start option where I'll load it in the morning, set the delay then have it finishing up when I arrive home from work. Amazingly quiet! Have had it 3 months now and haven't experienced any mold issues with the gasket but I always wipe the gasket dry after use and leave the door opened or cracked for circulation. Consumer Reports ranks this excellent as well

Too Powerful for old plumbing

This is an excellent machine and washes the clothes wonderfully. Just one problem, it flooded my laundry room the first three times I used it because it spins the water out so fast that the old narrow 2 inch plumbing in the house can't keep up with how fast the machine pumps out the water. We had to redo the plumbing, which was an unforeseen cost in the already pricey conversion to a front loader. Maybe LG should consider having a setting for how many PSi of pressure the water is being pumped out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you forget to add detergent to the dispenser before the water is finished loading, there is no way to add it to the load.
It doesn't do a good job of filtering out hair, lint, grass, etc. If you line dry your clothes, this is a problem. A dryer may get some of it. But it makes me wonder how clean the clothes really are.
There is no way to add extra water to a cycle, the Delicate and Bulky/Large cycles use more water but now I'm limited to only 2 cycle choices.
I dry the rubber gasket after every load but still get a musty odor in the machine. Whatever water the machine saves by being stingy in a wash load, you make up for by having to run Tub Clean cycles all the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had reservations spending $$$$ but it has been nothing but a pleasure. Clothes are cleaner but gentler than old-stye top load washer. Just make sure to use the HC detergent and keep the door loosely closed when not in use

This is a wonderful washing machine. I use less detergent, which makes me very happy, and my clothes are far cleaner than they were in my previous washer. I love the steam option when I want to freshen something without going through the whole washing cycle. Some of the cycles are long, but that isn't such a problem because the capacity is so large.
I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and will probably consider LG first now when looking for other appliances.

Best washer ,easy to use

We research washers for days and finally choose this model. It is well worth the time we did researching. Easy to use, quiet and runs great and saved us $100 from our DPW for water bill. Also plays music when it is finished and more that does large loads as we have 4 kids and lots of wash to do. Well worth going with this model.

I had an old front-loading washer and had promised myself that I'd get a high-end washer when it died. Well, that day arrived and I looked at the LG. I love it! There are more than enough wash cycles for me and since I have allergies, I think the steam feature will help in that area. My old washer had a very loud spin cycle, so this one still amazes me by how quiet the spin cycles are. I'm single, so the capacity is over-kill for me, but I appreciate the ability to wash the comforters and quilts I have.
LG has a decent reputation for reliability, so we'll see if this unit lives up to that reputation. With the advanced electronics on modern appliances, reliability was one of the deciding factors. I would highly recommend this washer to anyone looking for a high-end unit with steam capability!
