Had my convoy 3 for 20 months rugged in my pocket use have dropped more times than can count in barn off of truck and out of Tree stand wile hunting. Yes is a basic ph with small screen so if you need to do a lot of internet or want to see large photos on your phone need to look else where , I kept my Convoy 2 ph as a back up but have not needed it
Pros: Inexpensive, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tough phone

Basic flip phone that so far has survived one fall onto a sidewalk. Bluetooth works flawlessly with my home phone extension system. Sound quality is fine even for European calls. No worries about malware or being hacked because there is no OS. I expect some years of service from this phone as I obtained from my previous Samsung phone.
Pros: Inexpensive, Bright display, Durable

I like this phone. I am not someone who keeps my focus on the phone instead of people. It is a rugged phone with all the basic features of a wireless phone. It has voice recognization. You just say call John Doe mobile or home and it dials the number. Another great feature is you can block all callers not in your contact list. It has a decent camera and very long battery life.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight

Great rugged phone

Dropped it so many times I can't count. This phone survived it all. I was especially hard on this phone. As my first cell phone ever it was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better flip phone. If you want something that will survive it all this is your phone.

The phone is nearly indestructible ! I've dropped it, left it in the car on the dash in the heat of the summer, froze in the winter, even washed in the laundry and it still works awesome !

My overall rating is the lowest of the individual ratings, which is why I rated a 3, otherwise it would be a 4.
I owned a Convoy 2 for about two years and recently I "upgraded" to the Convoy 3. Personally I don't know why they came out with a new model. There are no significant improvements, but there is one minor disadvantage and one significant issue. This phone may cause problems for texters. see below...
PROS:
Call clarity, reception, durability, and the improvement of disabling the exterior buttons are all good things about this phone.

ON THE FENCE:
All the buttons are slightly larger on the Convoy 3 than the Convoy 2, and the main navigation button is easier to use on the Convoy 3 (this was a big gripe of mine on the Convoy 2), but the downside is that the phone is larger. I'd rather have smaller buttons and a smaller phone. This is the minor disadvantage.

The font size used when composing texts is too small, and CANNOT be adjusted. This is a significant issue. Only the font size for reading existing texts can be changed. For some people this makes the phone unuseable, while for some people it is simply a minor annoyance. This has been a known issue with this phone since it was released in 2013 based on my research. My Convoy 2 had larger default compose text size, which was OK. If you plan on using your phone heavily for texts, this is probably going to be an issue for you, and I would look elsewhere. Was told Samsung would come out with a new firmware to fix this, but they didn't have a timeframe as to when.

OTHER THOUGHTS:
The only other thing that would have been nice is if it were water resistant. They claim "Mil Spec" for shock, temperature, dust, and humidity, but not water resistance. The failure of my Convoy 2 (which has the same claims as the Convoy 3) by a light splash of water confirmed this.

Prior convoy 2 customer. Really enjoyed the size, and clarity of the phones sound to my aging ears. Bought the iPhone 5S, used it for 7 months, and sold it because it was really a phone for those that like to play with it as a computer/toy, which I already had at home.
Decided to get the Convoy 3 this time around that was a tad larger, but had a 2.5mm headphone jack, which is what I needed for longer talk, and not having to keep the flip one to my ears. The ringer was just as loud as the Convoy 2, which is what I really wanted for my aging ears. All I needed was a nice rugged flip phone that was reliable for the long haul.
Convoy 2 lasted 3 years for me, and now a back up for the Convoy 3. Only had this version a week now, but thus far I am pleased with it. The Convoy 2 needed a small battery size business card placed on the battery, than close the back plate to keep a contact, so the phone would not go dead on me, that was the only issue I noticed for the Convoy 2. This version has not displayed the same issue.
I only use it as a phone, and the battery has lasted over 8 days for me, and still had some juice left over. To be honest, I only make a few calls per month.
Overall, very pleased thus far.
Pros: Durable, loud ringer if needed, small enough to put in pocket, battery last 8 days for me

Received on 6-Sep-2013. After 2 days and several bumps and drops understand this is a very tough phone. Very basic as upgrading from Smartphone due to costs. Inexpensive and the call clarity is excellent. Not too fancy and such but does what a phone is supposed to do.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, clear sound
