Your Last Range

I'm a trained chef, so I kind of know what I'm looking for. My biggest obstacle was having to pay for an amped up ventilation system if I wanted to put in an industrial quality range. I replaced my previous Jennaire smooth top with this unit. The contrast couldn't be more amazing. Granted, I had to dispense with a lot of my good pots/pans to purchase an all clad D5 set that was induction ready, but it was worth the cost. The induction burners are amazing. Small sauce pan with 3 cups of water to a rolling boil in 2 minutes. Using the large burner, semi frozen chicken browned in minutes at high setting (something is almost impossible to achieve even with gas). Finally, though not touted at all by Electrolux, is their oven. My previous range took probably 15-20 minutes in convection mode to reach 350F. This range does it in 8.5 minutes. This is better than most of the professional equipment I use for work. You will be happy owning this model and shouldn't have any hesitation on purchasing. This is professional grade and works as advertised.

I have enjoyed using the induction range. However I noticed that the leveling legs were made of plastic and are very weak when moving the range in and out. I'm waiting for one of them to break. It would be nice if the material was made of a stronger material (aluminum or steel) and if there were some kind of glide on the rear legs that would make it easier to slide in and out.
The range came with an offer of a free griddle that could be used with the bridge feature of the range. I have been trying for over two months to get the correct griddle and still have not succeeded. The two griddles I have received so far do not sit flat on the range and do not cover the area of the two 7 inch induction areas. I checked in the accessories section of the website and there is no griddle available for this range. I have tried and tried to get the correct griddle but to date I have not received one that would work.

This range is magic!

This range has exceeded my expectations in every way. The induction burners are precise and very flexible (various sizes). The heat control with an induction beats gas hands down. The oven has so much control over convection, bake, and other settings - it's like magic. Your cooking will improve significantly just because you can do so much more with all the great features. And last, but not least this range is quality build and solid. (Also beautiful to look at)

What Rock Have I Been Under All These Years??!!!

I've only had it in my home nearly 3 months after a 4 week wait for delivery. It was worth the wait!
I looked at several models, originally considering just buying another smooth top electric range. Why I chose this over other ranges I had considered:
The induction feature itself-much more energy efficient because no heat is generated without having a compatible cookware piece making contact with the burner. Once there is no longer any contact, there is no energy being used.
The response time for temperature change is as instantaneous as a gas range. No extra hot elements to burn food on the stovetop. Easy to wipe clean.
The front right is the most powerful large burner of all brands I had considered. These induction burners really do heat up much faster than standard coil or regular smooth top electric ranges. Love getting in & out of the kitchen much faster!
The bridge feature allowing the use of an extra large item such as a roaster or a griddle because there are two equally matched in both size and wattage burners plus a bridge to connect the two on the left side.
There is one non-induction burner which is the center-back warming burning.
The touch controls give an overall smooth, sleek appearance to the appliance and make the panel easier to clean than knobs. Only a slight learning curve needed. Precise individual settings means no guessing and no temperature variance.
Nice size oven with more rack options than I knew existed. I especially love the Luxury-Glide Rack which will make those heavier items like the holiday turkey easy to access for basting & temperature checking. I also love the concealed lower element. Oven cleaning is a breeze.
The oven has a feature that automatically converts your standard oven temperature to the correct temperature when using the convection feature.
The features I feel so-so about (at least for now) would be the warming drawer since I've never had a range that had one-I'm accustomed to a large drawer to store extra cookware which this doesn't have. Once I start using it, I may feel differently.
I would have preferred a second light inside of the oven just in case one bulb burns out so there would be a spare.
I only wish I'd known about induction ranges sooner! By the way, I bought this range well before I ever saw a Kelly Ripa commercial about it!

Impressed

We decided if we were going to upgrade, we might as well upgrade. My husband is a hound when it comes to reading reviews and comparing products. We chose the induction cook top & Convection oven combo because it tied in with our already upgraded appliances and B. We make a lot of macaroni (very serious) and the quick boil feature seemed made for us. Note, you do need special cookware on the induction cooktop, if a magnet doesn't stick to your pan, it won't work. We had magnetic pans, but it took about 4 minutes to boil 6 cups of water (90 second advertisement was tested and dis proven - unless our pans are too old)! It cooks food incredibly fast ( I warmed a can of soup in about 45 seconds on the 7 setting). Once you turn off the heat, the cooking/boiling stops INSTANTLY. The convection oven feature is nice, but does not reduce cook time - reduced heat and more even baking is the draw. The glide rack is luxurious! The griddle & mail-in-rebate came in less than 2 weeks!

It was nerve-wracking to buy an expensive appliance without being able to check it out in a store. But that was the situation I was in: there are no store models within 150 miles of where I live. So I bought the range based totally on online info and comments, and I want to "pay it forward" by submitting my review.
My biggest concern was whether my pots would work. Most passed the magnet test, so that wasn't the problem. Instead, I was worried about size. How sensitive were the burners to pot size? Would some pots only work on one burner? I just want to take a pot and put it on a burner--especially if I have a lot going on at the same time, I shouldn't have to figure out which things to put in what pots to go where. And some ranges had negative reviews about pickiness.
I have been using the Elux range intensively for three weeks now, and have encountered zero size problems. All but one of my pots work on all burners. Even the small 5.5 inch one (size of the part of the pot that is flat against the stove) is detected by the largest burner. My 12 inch large canner worked, even though it splayed far over the edges of the largest burner. (And boy, did it heat up fast.) The only pot that works on only one one burner is my tiny 2.5 inch "butter warmer" (turkish coffee pot)--that one is only detected by the smallest burner.
If you read online discussion boards, you find a lot of people worried about whether they will like induction, but no one regretting their purchase. That's my experience, too. I wish I had made the jump years ago!

Delighted with This Range!

We have had this range for only two weeks, have used it a lot, and so far we are very pleased with it! I researched dozens of stoves before buying. I liked the user reviews about this one, and got really serious about it after seeing one in an appliance store. The build quality just seemed so much better than ANY of the other slide-in ranges in this price range. On this range, the function panel is glass (rather than plastic) and it feels solid when you press the function areas. It doesn't move backwards toward the wall like all the others I saw. It would have driven me crazy to have that back panel move. We like the all electric function display; it's easy to read and fairly intuitive. We do keep Quick Start Guide handy. The induction cooktop is wonderful and exceeds all of our expectations-- it heats induction-ready pans very quickly, cools down fast, and makes all our cooking easierand more enjoyable (versus regular electric). I appreciate the safety feature that an element will not heat unless an induction-ready pan is on it.. Cleanup is a breeze. After each use we wipe it off with a damp cloth and shine it with a dry dish towel, takes only seconds. The oven is HUGE! It comes with four racks, one of which is an easy-glide that makes it very simple to remove large or heavy items from the oven. We haven't yet used the bridge feature, convection feature or the warming drawer, but we expect that these will work as beautifully and seamlessly as the other features. Oh yes, two more items on good build quality: The hefty slightly convex handles on the oven door and warming drawer add to the solid look and feel, AND the warming drawer glides smoothly unlike so many others. VERY happy with this range so far.

It Just Keeps Getting Better

I wrote an earlier review with about a week of use. I can also attest to the fact that you can set a 12 qt stockpot with 8 its of water and bring it to a boil in 12 minutes. For those of us who enjoy cooking pasta, that's a huge improvement over any other option available. When you run the range in the PB mode, the burners actually make some noise near the end (loud buzzing), but then it kicks down to high after 10 minutes and the sound is almost unnoticeable. I also read of some critics of the timer sound level. It's just loud enough at the highest level, but it should be elevated especially if you have hearing impaired individuals. This is a function that definitely needs some improvement. All the other functions are awesome. The cooktop could use slightly better/brighter markings for the burner x for each spot. It would make keeping the pots maximally centered much easier.
