Works well, I’ve transferred at least 30+ VCR and cassette tapes using my windows 10 desktop

mediocre quality; mediocre software

Video capture is directly to MP4 for my Mac or MPEG-4. There are no video quality settings and the result on a wide screen TV leaves much to be desired. A good point is that it will save to wide-screen format but that's still standard definition, not high definition video. I got better results with hardware that saved to DV format that I later converted to MP4 format, but that hardware has become obsolete. The software is all point-and-click on the screen with no provision to save settings. There is a button to record again with the same settings in a given session but all steps must be followed on every recording session even if the setting are the same for every session. There are no menus or keyboard shortcuts; software strictly from hunger.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
