Good temperature control

This oven was recommended to me by the appliance store since I like to can fruits/jams. The newer ceramic tops are not suitable for canning. The first thing I made to test out the oven capabilities was a sheet of cookies. They baked evenly and the temperature was spot on. This particular GE range has a higher/hotter coil than some other ranges and so I chose this model. I had to adjust to having the knobs in front, but now that I have this range, I realize that it is safer for me to have the controls on the front rather than having to reach over/behind a large kettle to turn the knobs. The burner heat, like the oven, produces a nice, even heat. I also chose this range over others because I did not like the digital controls on some of the ovens. I'm expecting this one to last me 20+ years like the old one that it replaced.

Perfect Product

I bought this for my birthday. I use cast iron so chose to go with heating elements instead of a glass top which scratches easily. This stove is beautiful and makes my kitchen look great. The oven temperature is spot on (I checked it with an oven thermometer). It is easy to keep clean and great quality. love it

Heating elements heat up much faster than the ones of my 40 year old electric range. Cleaning the drip pans is much more difficult, in that the heating elements do not tilt out, but need to be completely removed and it is NOT at all easy to get them back in.

Great GE Product as Usual

Bought to replace 18 year old GE range and wanted to stick with coils but go to front controls. Love my cast iron pans so glass tops weren't on our radar. Had to buy strictly based on what I could see on line as no one carried it locally. Figured it was a GE so went ahead with the purchase and am not disappointed. Much more solid than some of the flimsy competitor products we looked at, plus had better wattage in the coils. A tad wider than our old range so I had to peel off the edge laminate on our counter to squeeze it in but you can't see the edge anyway. The back is a little plain and since we were used to a clock being there we just placed a magnetic timer/clock on it - looks fine. Very happy with the purchase.

Wonderful efficient oven

Wanted simple and not electronics!

I like the simplicity of the unit. It seems well constructed and durable. The only things I dont like is that the oven knob does not need to be pressed in to use so can be bumped on easily. The other is that the storage drawer below is very shallow and would not hold all the pots and pans my previous stove held. That was a disappointment as I purchased from online photos as no unit was available in the stores locally. Other than that I am fairly happy with the unit so far.

I am very short and the knobs on the front of the range is necessary to prevent reaching and burning myself
