Awesome printer

I love this printer. The color is beautiful and I can print 11x14 size. The only problem is that recently it isn't connecting to my Apple computer to print automatically when I hit the "print" button. I have to turn the printer off and then back on to get it to start printing. I hate that and don't know what to do about it. It worked wonderfully for the first months, so I don't know why it suddenly started with this problem. If anyone has any ideas of what to do, please let me know.

Excellent Print Quality - 1 failure

The print quality on this printer is stunning, beautiful. However, with the first paper jam it locked into a state of "paper feed error" and could not be returned to operation. It was in warranty and replaced by Epson so second printer is working fine now. But if the first one can fail on a single paper jam I lack confidence of durability.

As the title indicates the learning curve for this printer is very low. Easy to get set up and operational, particularly if going wireless.
Overall a very good printer that functions well, prints excellent pictures and cd's. Highly recommend this, and all Epson printers, for reliability and longevity.
Epson have been my go to printers for years. In all aspects they far outreach other brands in all ways.
But nothing is perfect, the one downside with this printer is "no document feed". If you wish to copy multiple pages each one has to be manually placed on the copy tray, a great inconvenience.
Highly recommend this printer.

Good Deal!

This printer and price are good deals! The printer was an easy set-up, performed as I would hope, and replaced another Epson that stopped working due to O S upgrade even though the old all-in-one was supposed to function with up-grade. I've had many Epsons over the years and can always depend on the brand! Here's another success story!

great quality photos

I've been generally pleased with the XP-950, especially in the nice quality of photos I've printed. I'd forgotten how convenient it is to have a separate tray for photo paper! It also prints crisp, easy to read black & white photos and documents and does so quickly and quietly. The only cons are the amount of ink it uses (or maybe the cartridges are smaller?), which seems like quite a lot more than the last 2 printers I've owned. A minor annoyance: if you load the regular paper tray with more than 10 sheets, the paper snags a bit as you slide it into place - easily avoided but I tend to forget about it. Overall, I do recommend the printer to people, explaining the above and that I feel it's worth it for the photo quality.

First, to be clear, this printer gives fantastic results. If it used pigment-based inks, and was designed with external tanks like the newer Epson printers this would be a home run. As it is, it is a game changer. Basically a multi-function printer for photographers, it prints larger than letter-sized, allowing even for panoramic prints – as long as they’re not wider than 8.5 inches, and handles up to A3 sized cut-sheet paper. It is also a great choice for laser-quality inkjet printing as it yields crisp clear document prints. The scanner accepts originals up to legal-size, and also offers auto-correct as well as custom setting options in the driver. The setup for wireless printing functions is greatly improved from past iterations. Simple, straightforward instructions in the supplied illustrated guide had me printing no more than 15 minutes after inserting the ink cartridges, some paper, and plugging the printer into an electrical outlet. There are separate trays; one adjustable up to legal-sized paper, and another for smaller photo papers, adjustable for 4x6, 5x7 and so on. Longer papers are fed into the rear of the printer. I’ve had great success using Epson matte, luster, and glossy papers, as well as papers from other manufacturers, including heavyweight metallic papers. There are custom printer profiles available from Epson and other manufacturers, but I was surprised to discover that the standard printer driver’s settings yielded fantastic results on its own. My only reservation with this printer is the amount of ink it consumes. Printing 11 x 17 full-color landscape prints at 120 or more dpi renders frame-worthy prints, but even the high-yield cartridges don’t last me more than a week when I print 8-10 images a day. It also prints pristine black-and-white images, with nearly indiscernible color cast, more than suitable for most everyday uses. As with all dye-based inks, longevity is considerably iffy without extreme care, including careful storage away from light and/or under uv glass, but the immediate product yields brilliant, accurate colors. For me this printer is best used with a paper with a luster-type finish. I would recommend this printer to anyone looking to print photography and other artwork, as well as regular documents at laser quality.
