features--smell from oven- preheat

Have used for a month..preheat takes forever..you could cook your food in the time it takes to preheat.The oven still smells when turned on. Manual says this will happen at the beginning. but the food cooked tasted just like the smell. If you need to increase temp.. you have to cancel select temp then go thru the completed preheat cycle again..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is Megan at GE Appliances. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your range. A normal preheat time is between 15 and 20 minutes. If your unit is taking longer than this please consider having service out to take a look. Thye can be reached at 1-800-GE-Cares. The smell should subside after the oven has been used a few times. If you would like to acceleratre this process you can run a self-cleaning cycle. Thank you for taking time to review. I hope this helps.

We bought this oven almost a year ago & absolutely love it! There is nothing that I would change. I live the steam clean option, the extra "burner" to melt & the rapid boil. It's an all around well made appliance!

Needed to replace, an older model, after accidentally braking the cook surface. I chose to purchase the newer GE model, which included convention cooking, due to previous cooking experience including quick heating time, variation in cooking times and surface size, automatic on, oven light and finally USA made!

Although not digitally inclined, my husband and I figured out the settings that very night! We love the sleekness and coil free design which is easy cleaning up.

GE oven

We chose this GE oven primarily because of GE's long standing reputation for making reliable products. We are so happy with this oven -- in addition to the four burners which heat up quite quickly with small and large burner options, there is a fifth burner that is a warming area and I find this feature to be quite helpful. I haven't tried the convection aspect of the oven yet, but I'm certain it will not disappoint. A great choice in stainless with a microwave to match.
