Worst product ever

It was brand new--though a few years old--in the box and it won't charge. The display comes on and it gives the animation for charging for a second and stops. It won't even give the animation after that point. It allowed me to add several albums worth of songs and shows connectivity with the USB cable to my computer, but it absolutely refuses to take a charge.
It can't be turned on, so I am sure the battery is completely discharged.
Never been more disappointed in my favorite electronics company in the world.

I don't normally write reviews but I had to take a moment to recognize this excellent gadget. I originally purchased an Ematic for Christmas only to have a hand full of problems and disappointed children since this was there main gift under the tree! So we returned the Ematics and came to Walmart to look for a replacement. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were directed to the Phillips because of the great Price and value for my money.
We are so happy with our new pieces of equipment. It has great sound quailty and the screen is perfect size for videos and the user friendly software cannot be beat! We love it and would not trade it for anything. Thanks Philips for saving my kids Christmas! They haven't been this excited over anything in quite some time! Should have known to purchase a Philips in the first place, won't make that same mistake twice! Happy New Years Philips!

Great For a work out, car and camping!

I bring this to the gym, camping and hook it up in my car. Little mini usb port is handy. Battery lasts forever. Can build a few of your own playlists right from the device. Only thing that is a pain, it is constantly not recognized on my computer. Not sure if this is a Windows Vista issue or Phillips Device issue. Overall I love it!
Pros: battery life, build playlists in the device
Cons: transferring music

i have had mine for 2 years. i love it. really nice battery life, and fast charge. i listen to mine at work 5 days a week. it is very tuff. i work in a mechine shop. lots of dirt and dust. i can not tell you all the bad treatment it has been through. my friends mp3s can not compaire. i laugh at all the prolbems they have. i am getting a new one becasus i think my earphone jack hole is wore out
Pros: battery life better than all others, low price
Cons: truly i cant think of any

I bought this player as a inconsiderable asset in case of its total loss at a party or at the beach.
The player is still working very well, looking to join me on my trip to Cuba.
