If I could give this zero stars I would, since we aren't able to use it at all. Went to put this on my son's iPad mini and wasted about five minutes trying to figure out what was meant by the "outer silicone casing" I was supposed to remove. It turns out the one they sent me doesn't have one. Submitted request to customer service and will update this based on their responsiveness
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

case lovely...just like every other Otterbox that I own (several).
BUT....big surprise! This case does NOT turn off iPad upon closing, which was a great feature of all of my other otter boxes.
This "missing"feature is not discussed on the website.
I am very disappointed.
When I called to complain, I was told, "designers decided that this feature is just not important".

Poor response....would have expected the person to say, we will absolutely look into this and work on fixing it. When we do, we will send you a replacement that works just like the other boxes.
Also...the hole for the "Touch ID" is not big enough; therefore, I cannot use this feature on my iPad, with the case on!!!!

Manager said that she would send another case, but I must snap a photo of the case serial number, which I cannot do, cuz I cannot get the case off the iPad...it is too tight.
Big mess....need to wait for someone with strong fingers.

it takes a great deal of effort to unsnap the top cover. so i end up leaving the cover behind...or leave it snapped onto the backside. Area for finger print unlocking should be bigger as well

Great product but still needs a little work. The Silicone shell is hard to take on and off and the plastic case is really hard to take off. But the Otterbox customer service is the best in the business.

Top notch protection!

Our family just purchased 3 IPhone 6's and we got OtterBoxes for all and we are VERY pleased with the protection they provide as well as the ease of installing them. Our old phones looked brand new after removing them from the old OtterBoxes. The only drawback is that the cases need to be opened and cleaned often if you work in a dusty environment. But, overall, we are well pleased with our purchases and will continue to be OtterBox fans.

I got this for my mom because she's a danger to anything electronic, portable or not. To put it into persepctive: In the less than a month since I installed the Defender on her IPad Mini, she has dropped it down several flights of stairs, on the sidewalk, on gravel, and even ceramic tiles. Not to help the matter, the cats like testing the durability of said product by smacking it off the desk onto hardwood floor. The IPad AND the casing are intact. There isn't a dent or scratch anywhere on them. I've never been so relieved in all my life to know that I will most likely never have to replace the screen of this IPad again!

I have always had an otterbox case for my I phone and I LOVE the product! I am an electrician and take my phone everywhere so I have dropped it off my car, and I have beat to up pretty good and my phone is still perfect (knock on wood). The warrantee is amazing and there are lots of colours available. I was bought an iPad for Christmas a year ago and with it came this amazing lifeproof case that the salesman sold my husband. It broke after a month, it's not attractive and they did not have a shadow of the warrantee that otterbox has. I bought an otterbox for myself and for my husbands new iPad mini as well. I especially love the stand and the screen cover!
Pros: High quality, Durable, screen cover, stand, otterbox stands behind their product, good colour options
Cons: the case doesn't fit into my daughters barbie toy.
