Great Camera but Poor apps

I have had this phone for 5 months and I regret getting it. Even after I was warned my decision was based on the rear camera. The camera is beyond awesome but the front facing camera takes poor quality photos. There are very limited apps in the windows store and the apps that you are able to download are of poor quality. I was using snap chat through a third party app but was booted off because of it and the windows phone does not have the original app. I find this to be the case on a bunch of apps. I am very disappointed in this phone. I now have to wait 16 months before I am able to upgrade and I definitely will be going back to my android smart phones.

Love my Nokia Lumia 1020!

I never thought I'd love a phone as much as I love my Nokia Lumia 1020, absolutely the best camera on a phone!, really the best!!!!!!

Best camera ever!

I love the camera. That's the first thing I always say to anyone who ask what phone is. I just can't avoid showing everything that can be done with my 1020; Cinemagraph is one of the best applications. Plus, free driving directions and offline maps. AWESOME!

Camera defective

At first, I was extremely excited to switch to this phone after having a long history with the iPhone. When I began to use the phone the experience was satisfying at first. Within a couple of weeks that satisfying experience turned around rapidly. The selling point of the phone began to malfunction. Later I found that others had ran into the same problem I was having. Even more discomforting was the fact that this was a very common issue.
The rest of the phone ran smoothly the majority of the time... But, still had problems with the device hard crashing and had to be hard rebooted quite frequently.
Finally, the only other thing I could complain about is the disappointment of the windows store. App selection and variety is very small and unsatisfying.
I would not recommend this phone. Your best bet is to choose a different model if you're set on windows. With that being said, if you are not set on the idea of windows then I would highly suggest staying with IOS or Android.

This is a great phone!

To begin with, it is a strong phone that has managed to survive my clumsiness. It also has a great feel with the matte and I love the style of the sharp cornered edges as it is very different. The stand-by clock is great and always impresses people. The pictures and screen quality is beautiful. I also love the connection of Onedrive with my surface for writing and college. The battery life has held up after the year I have had it while other phones, *cough cough* iphone, has fell down. Ultimately I have owned every phone and every os out there and I have never been so happy with a phone after a year. I can never get bored with its customization of tiles and colors. Great phone, great quality, no regrets. Can't wait to get my Nokia Lumia 1520. :)

excellent device

The 1020 is a phenom. The camera is superior to any other and the Nokia Camera app runs flawlessly with it. Run WP8.1 smooth and efficiently. This device handles everything I throw at it. Only wish the memory was expandable.

Camera not Worth it

Camera is not a point and shoot. Constantly trying to manually adjust the settings to get the best shot. Then its too late. Moments over. The camera actually saves your photos in two formats. Large (you can only use after transfer to a pc) small used for texts and such. I never connect phone to a pc so this feature is useless for me.
I think the general OS works well. Find it easier than Samsung galaxy phones. Finding apps and people much quicker. I actually enjoy using the phone. Ya it has bugs, simple on and off tend to fix. Had it warrantied twice for headphone jack and speaker phone didnt work. By far works more flawless than my galaxy 3.
Bad note. AND THIS WILL BE THE REASON I SWITCH BACK. The lack of integration with goggle products will kill the windows user. Bing does not work as good as google. Bing maps does not work as good as google maps. My business uses links to google maps and it doesn't work quite rite. Likely due to no app and its forced to use web based. Fix these two issues and ill stay Microsoft. Oh and put out another phone.

Great Phone

41 megapixel camera for the Win! Nokia 1020 is an amazing phone and honestly no other phone compares. I used an iPhone for 4 years and got tired of the sluggish performance and poor battery life. I converted to a Nokia 920 a year ago and loved it. Now this phone with the super camera that lets you adjust exposure via the on screen dial is fantastic. Additionally I love being able to open and save PDF & Office Docs to my phone. If you are looking for a phone for Business this is the device. If you wan't a toy to play games there are other options.
