Have a great camera at phone

Amazing phone until Cyan killed it...

That's right, the Cyan update has turned my 1020 in a freezing, lockup nightmare. It lockups 1-2 times a day which requires a soft-reset to bring it back. What's more troubling is that the glance screen is frozen in time, possibly burning in that part of the screen.

Would be the perfect phone if it had built-in wireless charging

First and foremost, I love both this phone and my prior Nokia 920 because of how sturdy they are. I beat on my phone. I could be the poster child for how sturdy Nokia/Lumia phones are. My 1020 has survived being thrown multiple times, being dropped onto asphalt and concrete (once into a puddle of water), it's fallen all the way down a flight of marble stairs, and most recently it fell off the top of a set of bleachers and hit the gym floor on its corner and skidded to a stop on its back - all the folks sitting near me were amazed to see its unharmed glance screen beaming up at us from the floor. So its durability is the #1 thing I love. Other features I can't live without: the Glance Screen, Quiet Hours, the camera rocks, the ability to customize darn near anything. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because they didn't include wireless charging as a built-in feature, and that felt like a major step back from the 920. I also have occasional problems with the alarm which is really strange. It'll get stuck where it's blaring in the morning and I can't shut it off. Other than that, this phone is really perfect. Love love love, and I hope Microsoft keeps up with the Nokia standards.

This product is great, and have the best camera

I love this phone, have great specifications and also the best camera in a smartphone. It's really fast, and Windows Phone are simple to use. No lags in here. But I really want more sopport from microsoft and other developers. I want that the apps have updates the same day that others SO. And also, support for the camera, I want in Lumia Demin the same features that 1520 or 930, like a faster camera, hdr, etc.

My favorite phone so far

tl;dr: Great Windows Phone with a few tradeoffs.
- Ergonomics and physical feel is fantastic. The design is simple, elegant, and really pretty (I have the yellow one). The size is perfect for my hand, and it's easy to use in both portrait and landscape modes. It's crazy sturdy too - I've watched my wife drop hers onto cement countless times without a case and it's still in great shape.
- The camera is just amazing for a phone. Image quality is on par with a good point and shoot (Canon S110 good - not quite RX100 good, though). It works well in low light and as long as you're not trying to capture anything fast moving, you can get some really beautiful shots with it that don't feel like they came from a phone. Tradeoff here is that the off-to-shot and shot-to-shot times are really long, and there's some lag between hitting the shutter release and capturing the image, making quick moving subjects difficult to capture.
- The screen is fantastic as well. Touch sensitivity is perfect, and it's very easy to type on. Daylight mode makes it really easy to read in direct sunlight, and it's nice to be able to adjust the color temperature.
The processor/RAM combo seem plenty fast - aside from the camera lag (and I know that's a lot to process), everything is super quick and responsive, and the animation is fluid.
- Voice, mic and speaker quality are all really good.
- Battery is excellent once you have LTE towers nearby. I can sometimes get two days on a charge.
- I really wish it had wireless charging built in rather than needing a shell for it. I feel like the shell ruins the aesthetics, but I put up with it because I've gotten used to wireless charging with my 920.
Overall it's the best phone I've ever owned (I've had Android phones, iPhones, a Treo, a Blackjack, several flip phones and candy bar Nokias) - I just love using it. I really hope to see an updated version with the same camera (but faster processing) and built in wireless charging while keeping the simple, bulletproof design.

Battery life is lacking and missing some third party support.

I love my 1020 but my battery doesnt even last me four hours anymore. I would also like more integrations from outside sources but understand that is not the Lumia departments fault. I just need a follow up phone now with a GIANT battery.

Amazing Camera, Fantastic Screen, Great OS

I Love my Lumia 1020 in Yellow, the camera is amazing, the screen is bright and super readable even in bright sunlight. Couple that with a great OS, and you have a fantastic smartphone which handles all of my needs for both business and pleasure. The camera is so fantastic that I stopped taking my SLR even when I go on out of town trips.

Luima 1020 is truly photographers phone!

I have been using iOS since the first iPhone; and Android is just not for me. I am a professional photographer so when the Lumia 1020 was released; needles to say I was very intrigued. I waited, hoping the iPhone 6 will have a comparable camera. I was very disappointed to learn otherwise. I'm now very happy with my decision to switch to a Windows phone and I'm very satisfied with my Lumia 1020. As the saying goes, "the best camera is the one you have with you". When I'm not carrying my DSLR camera with me, I feel confident using my Lumia 1020 knowing that I'll be able to use what I have captured. I'm a big fan of the black background with white text; it's very easy on my eyes and the screen size is prefect for me.
