I'm a wedding photographer and this is my phone of choice

If you're a serious photographer there is no other choice than this phone. I wouldn't shoot an entire wedding with this but there have been a few moments captured with my 1020 and the bride had NO IDEA they were shot with a phone. I have my 1020 (with a broken screen) and a Samsung Android phone. Although the screen is shattered, I would rather carry this than the Android. Unfortunately, I have over a year left on my contract and can't replace it.

Love this phone

I love this phone. The camera is why I bought it. Being available in Yellow too was a bonus as its one of my favorite colors. I do enjoy many of the Windows 8.1 features and some apps are better than whats available on Android. I have been using Android since Galaxy S1 and havent had too much trouble making the switch. The Camera and Lumia software is great and easy to use. Being a photographer I have found this device useful in certain situations.
Critiques
Internal Battery is an Issue.

I'd prefer to also have a SD for storage.
Camera Functionality is good but takes too long to load default app.
No one has made a blogging app available yet either, which maybe Microsoft could consider as it would be useful to some.
Microsoft needs to update 1020 Users on if there is a successor or not. Cant keep people in the dark this long. People will be making upgrades soon as this device is hitting the two + year mark and may not stick with Lumia if there is no successor, opting for better camera phone options.
Overall this is a very solid device and Im really hoping there will be a 1020 - 2 with a Plus size screen optionlike the 1520
Keep making devices like the 1020 and I'll buy them.

Very quick, many good features, Camera is amazing (I get great quality when zooming in from great distances), durability lives up to the Nokia name as well.

I bought this phone outright just for the camera. The screen is pretty decent, but I do feel it should have been bigger.
But the camera is outstanding, tho could use some improvement. The reframe mode is great, but needs a great macro mode, also needs to be faster when taking and storing photos. Also some kind of exposure lock for video taking.
I haven't had any problems with the phone works great but could use some refinements.

I've been an iphone user and the Lumia 1020 it's from another world, great camera, great software, great phone, only the speed of the camera and the battery should be improved

I love this phone, best phone I've ever purchased!. The operating system is smooth.. No glitches, crashes or confusion of apps. Most important is that it's a play phone and a work phone..i love everything about these phones.. It WILL catch on.. Keep up the good work

Great camera, solid OS, love Cortana, but every once in a while I will crave for an I-app. Great phone for anyone who doesn't need apps. I still feel that its functionality is a step-behind iOS, but still much better than Android.

There are a lot of camera phones out there, but the camera on the Lumia 1020 stands out. I bought this phone because of the camera and after using it, I wasn't disappointed, I mean we are talking 41MP with both LED and xenon flash, you can't go wrong.
It runs on windows phone 8 OS, so you have an easy to use, intuitive OS that is user friendly, add in the sleek design of the phone (i especially love the yellow color one# and you have a winner.
The one problem I have had with the phone is battery life, lasting less than 8hrs #I'm a heavy user though), that's low.
