The understated handset punctuated by the by the strong camera is what attracted me to the Lumia 1020.
Being familiar with Windows mobile OS, I already knew what to expect from the phone in regards to apps and productivity. I use the phone extensively for enterprise use with outlook, office, and Lync.
Impressive is how much I would come to use my phone for personal and entertainment use. The camera, which is the draw for anyone that would choose this phone, is a true point and shoot replacement. And goes even further with the available lenses to download to make the camera even more of an advance photo system to rival what can be reproduced by the average photo enthusiast.
Often when viewing photos taken with the Lumia 1020 people are surprised that a phone could capture such sharpness and depth of field with a camera phone. Nokia has made a return to a feature phone set that turns a smart phone that does everything well, to a smart phone that does everything well and one thing that it does exceptional.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is way cool. It has many great features such as the 41 megapixel camera, and Cortana (if you have Windows Phone 8.1). As an avid Windows fan, it's the perfect phone for me, and Internet Explorer is a surprisingly nice default mobile browser. The Store is a bit lacking in comparison to the Apple App Store and Google Play, but I don't mind much since I'm not a big app user to begin with. Overall, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is a nice little phone and is certainly worth a go, and isn't too big of a jump from iOS.

The Very Best in Smart Phones- Bar None

I had been a dedicated Black Berry user for 7 years, the Nokia 1020 Windows phone with the 8.1 OS is the best in everything I could want in a phone/camera/computer- I don't know what the best feature is, I build "Heirloom Quality" custom woodwork, I needed a camera that would take pictures for posting my "Art" on the internet, the Nokia 1020 w/41 megapixel camera takes better shots than my high priced Sony- and I can go right to the net with them. Cortana in "Herself" is like a right on time assistant, if she could cook I would marry her- Microsoft and Nokia have "Hit the Nail on the Head" with the ease of use with the live tiles, as my "Old Black Berry tech self" slowly fades away, I find more ways to use the many features of the top notch 8.1 OS- Many Thanks for this phone/camera/computer ( I can't figure what it's strongest point is ) I'll keep learning and using - I would Highly Recommend this new "Bundle" of technology to anyone who has need for all the features of a wonderful camera, great sound when reading text messages as well as voice recognition for "speaking" your texts and not to leave out the computer features

Great Smartphone with the Best Camera!

I've owned a few Windows Phones to date, so the operating system has been a "go" for me from day one. Very intuitive, easy to use, and fast/responsive. I have been a Nokia fan for quite some time ... their hardware quality is excellent. Sturdy, reliable, in a nicely designed package. I bought the 1020 because I really wanted the top of the line camera, and I can say definitively that it's excellent. The learning curve has been slightly higher for me because I'm newer to photography that goes beyond "point and shoot," but I knew that going in ... I wanted to start learning. I am starting to get the hang of it and am really enjoying taking pictures now. The only minor issue I have with the phone is battery life is a little less than I'd hoped it would be, but I can still get through a full day as long as I put battery saver on, so I can't really complain. It gets the job done! Great phone!

From Blackberries, to several Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy 2), iPhone and even a stint several years ago with Windows Phone 6, I've literally had them all. Until Windows Phone 8, I must admit I was a big fan of Samsung and Android. However, I can't imagine going back to any other type of phone. I love everything about the 1020. Easy to customize, easy to do just about anything. It did take a couple days to get used to the tiles, but I just love them now. Seems like every week there's new apps, too. Everything I need is there, but more coming. I'm not much of a photographer, but if that's important to you there's almost no need to even look further--the camera on this is crazy good. My wife and daughter have iPhone 5 phones and seriously won't even use Siri if I'm around -- they demand we use Cortana. Love my Windows Phone. :-)

Let's address the elephant in the room. The 41MP zoom is a BEAST! I only wish it could snap living images. I had an HTC One and fell in love with style of photo/gallery.
WP has come a long way in its app store, but it could use more watch apps and cable/satellite provider apps. I miss being able to play shows or program my DVR while at work.
Battery life barely makes it through about 6-7 hours of normal usage at work. Better than my HTC One M7, but not jaw dropping.
