Great camera

I love to take pictures while i'm out on walks with my dog in the park and this phone's camera is great for that. the clarity of all the pictures can not be beat by any other phone

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is awesome,switched from a galaxy S4.The camera is amazing the performance is very fluid no lag whatsoever.I love Cortana much better than Google search ,I think Internet Explorer still needs some work on the browsing experience specially on social media sites.Trying to view pics on IE appear oversized and can't see complete pics on Facebook site for example.official youtube app would be great"wishful thinking" other than that its a great phone ,great performance,great display,incredible camera.

excellent camera, good all-around phone

I am a photographer by hobby. I have stopped carrying around point and shoots and handhelds as the 1020 is better - fits in the pocket, takes sharp pictures, and has connectivity to share and send pics right away. I do wish the camera could process shots faster, but for general photography it is great. Dedicated camera button is essential. The hump on the back makes it unstable on a counter.
The phone itself is solid. I wish it had built-in wireless charging, but other than that it is feature-complete. Appreciate the glance screen (so I can see the time and date without turning the phone on), so it's replaced me wristwatch. And I really like the live tiles.
Battery life is irregular. Some apps (especially messaging and apps with ads) will drain the battery quickly. The camera app also drains the battery. That said it is quick to recharge.

Great Device, Great Camera

The Lumia 1020 is an excellent device for all ranges of users. From the most novice user to the more seasoned Smartphone user. My favorite feature is the Camera. The Lumia 1020 has an amazing 41megapixal camera along with several wonderful apps to compliment the camera.

An always underatted mobile platform

Over the years I've had two iPhones, three Android devices and two Windows Phones. I've been an early adopter on all three platforms when they first launched and revisited them again in after they've grown. My first Windows Phone was a WP7 HTC HD7. Despite the issues I had with the hardware, it was the OS that I loved. Now... after seeing the platform grow and owning a 1020 since it's release I can say that I have never put a phone through the paces so much and have it hold up so well; both aesthetically and operationally.
Yes the camera is amazing. I hope to see a follow device in the future with equal imaging capabilities but it's not JUST about the camera. These devices are great. I don't have to swim through pages of screens to find my apps and with Live Tiles most of the time all I need to do is glance.
Though the app market does feel limited a lot of the time, I have a feeling that will change with Windows 10 and unified app market. Until then I just pin the sites I don't have apps for to my phone.

I purchased the 1020 specifically for the high quality camera. Being a professional photographer, no other smart phone offers anything comparable. I like the many available lens and editing apps available. I have used it for a couple of professional shoots. Mind you, all smart phone cameras have their limitations. Speed and low-light capabilities are lacking. The optional PG-95 camera grip is a poor product. The USB connection has failed on (3) of them to date. However, the dedicated shutter button and tripod mount still function. All in all, nice phone. Love the windows platform!
