I'm using this phone for almost two years, and still is fast, the camera is superb when you set it up to use the 41 mega pixels . this phone has dropped more than five times and nothing happens to the screen, is still faster than my Samsung 6 edge with only 4 month of use, the battery on save mode on last at least 15 hours, even using gps and checking my email accounts...
And the windows software is fast to use in this phone, the only negative thing is the lack of Apps for this software...

The Lumia 1020 is amazing, even beyond the 41 MP camera with Zeiss optics

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is simply an amazing device. With a classic aesthetic design that is comfortable in the hand, this device screams quality from the design and performance of this beautiful device.
Of course, at the heart of this device is the world's most advanced and best smartphone camera. Whether discussing the crisp and clear pictures, the phenomenal zoom, the Carl Zeiss Tessar lens (actually 6 lenses), the incredible low-light performance, or the easy-to-use software that makes me look like a pro, this is truly a great device. As a father of two beautiful little girls, it used to be so hard to get a good shot of these very active and healthy kids, but not any more. More great shots, more great videos, and more time with them, instead of fidgeting or looking for a point-and-shoot camera. Whip out my phone, snap a pic, and play on!
By the way, the videos are just as fanatastic. I love being able to easily zoom in and zoom out while recording a video. And then there is the sound. It is really "Wow!" I cannot describe it, you have to simply experience the sound for yourself. When a video is played back, it really is like you are there live.
Of course, running Windows Phone as its platform of choice, I have a device that helps me to quickly and easily perform my everyday tasks with little effort and to keep up with those people who are important to me. Gone are the days of fidgeting with my phone instead of enjoying the people I'm with. Gone are missed chances, blurry photos, and shots of the dark..
I also enjoy the Nokia Camera Grip, which is pure genius. While originally I thought this grip would be bulky and a pain, it is now my everyday cover as it protects my device, extends my battery life, make the device extremely easy to grip, whether taking a picture or racking up points on my favorite Xbox games. It feels fantastic in my hands. It also properly weights my phone so it doesn't slip out of my shirt pocket or a side pants pocket, without a noticeable bulge in the pocket.
The only issue I have with the Nokia Lumia 1020 is trying to keep my wife from stealing it! *lol* I think I see a Lumia 1020 in her near future!

The only reason this phone was purchased was because of its camera. I own the 920 and it served me well. When the 1020 was announced I was elated!! Being a photographer and carrying my dslr with me started to become a chore. I also hated that my cameras brought so much attention. After purchasing the 1020, I could capture things on the move without much notice, and edit them in Photoshop. I love street photography and this phone enables me to go out and capture subjects unknowingly. By doing this, I'm able to capture true emotion.
I also love the business aspect of it as well. With Microsoft office, my team and I can keep up with transactions and how much we are spending and bringing in through excel. We are able to scan documents, write and edit contracts, and more right on our phones. Microsoft and Nokia has definitely hit the nail on the head with this product. Just wish that the 1520 had a 41mp camera.

I love just about everything about my phone. It has a few flaws. One the front camera isn't as good compared to competing front face cameras on other phones. You would think front camera would also set the bar high as the did the rear camera. The 41 megapixels is what I fell in love with. I'm not too bothered by the front camera. The worst thing about the phone is the storage as well. The camera is so amazing you would want to save the captured memories but its a hard process since there's no sd card option in the phone which would've been genius. Also the apps aren't the best when it comes to social networking. The instagram on my nokia doesn't offer uploading my killer videos, the two instagram apps have their pros and cons. I don't have a snapchat at all the 6snap app was removed and I was locked out of snapchat. I wish had snapchat. I love the phone I have and want to stick with it . I've been looking at other phones and I still don't like them as much as my nokia lumia 1020. If Nokia came out with another phone with the powerful 41 megapixel camera and the fixed flaws I'd purchase it without a doubt. I'm willing to wait. I like standing by my windows phone. Please hear me out Microsoft.

Camera only reason to purchase.

I have owned this device for four months now. I bought it for my birthday. And even before that I noticed that Nokia Lumia is a "No No" for almost everybody in America. Despite the warning signs I went ahead to buy the phone. Four months into using the device I realized that I made a wrong choice. Don't get me wrong, the rear camera is superb. The design is magnificent. But that is all to it. You have average battery life, slow internet navigation. The phone runs on 1.5Ghz. And the front camera sucks. No expandable memory card slot, limited amount of apps in the store and poor available apps. You can't even edit a dialed number before calling. In summary this phone is not worth the headache it's performance is going to cause you, unless you can take heart from the good quality of its pictures only. Microsoft impaired the quality of Nokia phones.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
